Eyeglasses on wedding day???

I was going to originally, but the glasses I had at the time were the ones that darken in sunlight, so they wouldn't work for outdoor pictures. I ended up getting some contacts to use for the wedding and our honeymoon. If you search Pinterest for brides with glasses, I'm sure a ton of examples will come up.

Every bride and groom I've known who regularly wears glasses kept them on for the wedding. Needing to see trumps a certain look..

I wear glasses and was thinking about getting contacts, but since our wedding is now a small backyard wedding I'm not going to waste my money. I have dark frames that I'm just going to wear all day but for pictures I might taking them off. This is what they look like.

I am exclusively a glasses wearer and I will be wearing a special pair I bought for the wedding. They are a vintage inspired black shiny cat eye with some small gold accents and I absolutely LOVE them! I honestly just want to look like myself in my wedding pictures. Do what makes you feel best!

I wear glasses and contacts, and since there is a height difference with me and my fiance I will be wearing contacts for the wedding day, so when i hug taller people, the glasses don't get smushed or i have to worry about taking them off first

This is awesome. I've worn glasses since I was 2.5, so they are just a part of my face. I would never consider *not* wearing them. I did have contacts briefly in junior high, but hated them. I definitely bristle at the idea that glasses are somehow automatically not "bridal".

Anyway, I wore my glasses on my wedding day and didn't worry about them matching the style of my dress. But I love the idea of buying a special pair for the occasion.

I will be wearing my glasses and actually bought a pair off Eyebuydirect (which I highly recommend). I made sure to get the anti glare coating on them

My FH and I both wear glasses everyday and absolutely HATE contacts. I'll be keeping my normal glasses hidden in the pockets (that I just discovered, haha), and I'll take them out when needed, although my eyesight isn't that bad. My FH, however, will be wearing his. I believe that his groomsmen will be wearing theirs, if they wear glasses, as well. My bridesmaids wear glasses, but they're much more comfortable with contacts so I'm pretty sure they'll opt for that. I'll be partially blind most of the ceremony and reception, but like I said, my eyesight isn't that bad. My FH wouldn't be able to see 3 feet in front of him without his on, haha.

Anyways, thank you so much for your post! If my grandmother wasn't vehemently against it, I would probably wear my glasses anyway xD!

I have totally had this though too! I want to get contacts but I also feel face-naked and weird without my glasses. Getting a pair to go with my dress sounds like a great idea

I have "reading" glasses that I need more and more often these days. My FH has told me he thinks I look very cute in glasses but I am on the fence about wearing them. I will probably be reading my vows so I may have my MOH carry them with her and wear them for just that part of the ceremony.
