Fabric draping for hotel ballroom cost and recommendations? Near Denver!

Abigail, on May 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

Hi everyone,

I am having my winter wedding (most likely) at Winter Park Lodge in Colorado. The prices for both me and my guests have been the most affordable but sadly the ballroom is a bit drab! I'm looking for recommendations for companies that can drape fabric and perhaps add a bit of lighting. I was quoted $5,000 (AHHH!) for just a beginning estimate from a place recommended by the hotel. If I had to pay that much I might as well just use a different venue altogether!

Or if anyone has any other ideas for sprucing up the ballroom please let me know!

Thank you!

Abigail

As Celia once pointed out, no one is going to pay attention to whether the chairs have covers on them or not. Skip the expense. I feel the same way about decorating the walls at my hotel ballroom venue. No one is going to pay attention or even care if I do it. Don't have the funds anyway. I would let this one go.

Up lights are way cheaper and can do wonders

Definitely did google Jarika but I felt someone with personal experience could help better than the generic google search engine.

Thanks Kim - I will look into uplights! And that's what I keep hearing Laura and I may have to do that but I personally might feel better if I spruced it up just a bitSmiley smile

Uplights + anything to distract from the things you don't like - pin lighting on your dessert, or an open air photo booth backdrop. Your DJ or venue can help w lighting or suggest a pro.

Like the other ladies say, i think uplighting would be one thing that is relatively inexpensive but would add alot of character to your venue, I think focusing more on making sure that people are fed well and have drinks they like. I am trying to focus more on my guests experience good music, food and drinks we are doing a hot dog bar at the end of the night rather than focusing on decorations that people wont remember in a year or two. ! good luck to you i know how difficult winter weddings can be to plan sometimes lol!

Thank you all for the support and info! I'm looking into uplighting and I'm going to try to remind myself that the decor isn't as important. I know people will have a good time either waySmiley smile

Some DJs include uplighting in their packages.
