Fabulous looking but to much for wedding look?

Chelsea, on March 11, 2021 at 1:08 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 18
Had a hair trial and makeup trial recently...
Never wore hair extensions but she said it can help pop more.
Never wore eyelashes and she put them on and I liked them. But then was thinking about getting my nails done (acrylic). These are things I normally don’t do. Is it to much for wedding? I’m going to need to do a spray tan. I just still also want to look like myself but fabulous also???
How much is too much?

I think as long as you feel comfortable and like the way everything looks, then it’s perfect!

If you are comfortable then go for it. When you start to look unrecognizable then it's too much

I agree with others. If you like it, then go for it. I never wear makeup or get my nails done (like ever). For my wedding, I did gel nails and had makeup with false eyelashes. I still had my makeup look subtle, but the eyelashes picked up better in photos. When looking at photos, I still feel like I look like myself, just a bit fancy.

I wanted to look like me, but the best version of me (hair extensions, and lashes!). I call it my Julie+ look

Hair extensions, lashes and make up in any form is something I don't do at all. I did a makeup trial and my artist did a fabulous job! I still looked like myself just enhanced. In order to achieve the hair style I want, I need my hair a little fuller with a little more length and all in all, with both trials, it was a nice subtle change. When my FH sees me, he won't think I'm a completely different person LOL. But it is a preference and it is your day...your day to go glam as long as you're comfortable.

It’s your wedding day! No such thing as extra, as long as you feel good and love the way you look I think it’s fine.

Agreeing with DJ... lashes are just a must!

I can tell you after seeing hundreds of brides, with and without lashes, that lashes just make your eyes pop a bit. Makes them look a little bigger, makes you look a bit more "bright-eyed." Unless they are full-on fur coats, they probably just add a little "something" to make your eyes seem a little more magical, and aren't actually as "too much" as you might be worried. And if they are full-on fur coats, well... what other time in your life are you going to spend the money for a professional MUA to apply them? Rock them if you like them!

Same with nails and hair. Done well, hair extensions will just probably give you some "oomph." A lot of people don't realize that model photos of hairstyles usually use extensions, and then they're disappointed when theirs doesn't look quite as full.

Ultimately, if your artist did these in a trial and you liked the way they looked, then it isn't too much. If you never do these things, as I said before - when else than your wedding?

I don’t think that’s too much at all! I’m planning on doing a lot of the same for my big day. I never get my nails professionally done or go tanning, but I’m definitely going to do both. I tend to do my everyday makeup look on the subtle side, so I want to go all out. I want to look and feel my best for one day especially since all eyes will be on me and my FH! Not to mention, I want to look great in my photos! I think every bride has the right to do whatever they please for their bridal look, go for it!

I never wear makeup, do my hair, and only get my nails done when I have extra money or an event coming up. That being said, I had extensions, false eyelashes, glam makeup, and my nails done and I LOVED it. I felt like the best version of myself and didn't feel like any of it was over the top. The heavy makeup helped my features stand out in our pictures and the extensions gave me a bit more volume and curl hold than my regular hair would. It's a special occasion, and if you're happy with the look, go and rock it!

Lashes YES! nails yes! I think hair extensions would definitely not take away from your natural look. I am the same way where I still want to look like myself since I don't do all that stuff on the regular but I think it will just enhance your natural beautiful features (: I would personally go for a natural makeup look with some poppin lashes and obvi nails lol

Nope, not too much! A wedding is the perfect time to get all dolled up with nails, lashes, and all the extras!

I think that a bride should look like the best version of her authentic self on her wedding. If you never wear hair extensions, false lashes, acrylic nails, and spray tan, doing so for your wedding, in my opinion, is too much. If you never wear makeup and go full face glam, even if it looks incredible, you are not going to look like the person all of your loved ones know (and love) you as.

Did you love your trial look? Did you keep the extensions and lashes on all day to see how they felt at the end of the day? Did any of your close friends, your fiance, or your family members see you? How did they react?

In the end, its your day, and you should do what makes you feel comfortable. Sure extensions, lashes, and dramatic makeup can be fun, but I feel like that would be more appropriate for a boudoir shoot where I'm playing a character of myself, rather than at my wedding, where I am wanting to be the best version of my everyday, regular me self. But that's me! You do you!
