Face Primer

alysmw, on October 30, 2018 at 12:11 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 12

What would you suggest as the best mattifying, stay-all-day, sweat-proof face primer?? I have very oily skin! Right now I use a matte primer from the drugstore & it works pretty well. I am willing to invest in something amazing for the big day & want to know what the best is!

Dr. Brandts Pores No More Primer! I have oily skin and this is the ONLY primer that will keep me matte all day.

I've tried so many and I actually love The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil primer. The Sephora brand one is good too.

I have a super oily T-Zone and chin, and I love Smashbox primer, and then Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray after my makeup is applied. Using those products, along with a really good foundation and setting my makeup well with powder, it stays all day and I don't get oily through my makeup.

I'm definitely going to invest in that Urban Decay spray because I've heard nothing but amazing things about it! What foundation do you use? Smiley smile

Hi Alyssa Maria! Since you have oily skin I would actually stay away from setting sprays and look more toward setting powders! They tend to absorb oils and keep your skill looking matte and smooth all day! I use the Cover FX setting powder and absolutely love it! As for primers, you may want to look into Hourglass' Veil Mineral Primer. It is truly an amazing product and is worth the price! What type of foundation do you currently use?

Right now I use the Revlon Colorstay foundation for oily skin. I am looking into the Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation for the big day because it has amazing reviews for its long-lasting ability! Smiley smile

Hi Alyssa Maria! I am the same way! Smiley heart Right now, I use Benefit POREfessional Matte Rescue Primer and really like it. It's super smooth, light, and minimizes pores really well too. I found this article with some more Primers for oily skin types that might interest you, too!

Are you doing your own makeup for your wedding day? Smiley heart

I have used this product before, and really liked it! But, I highly reccomend going into a store like Sephora or Ulta before buying it and trying on some other brands as well such as Makeup Forever, Dior, and Lancome! There are tons of great foundations out there, and some work well with oily skin, and some don't! It's best to try them on before buying them and having a professional help you match your skin tone for the perfect shade! Smiley kiss

I love Urban Decay's All Nighter but if you're only maybe try their DeSlick setting spray!

This is my favorite primer too! I am super oily too. I actually use a little bit of milk of magnesia on my face first, then the primer. That’s my go to combo if I don’t wanna look oily.
