Facebook engagement announcement

I put a picture of FH holding my hand with my ring, but other than that I've kept wedding planning posts to a minimum

I changed my status 3 months after the engagement, mostly due to pressure from other people wondering why I hadn't announced it on social media. As far as I'm concerned all the people that needed to know were already aware. I also haven't posted any ring pics. We're mid-30's and have been together a while so that could be why I'm less inclined to share on social media.

We never posted anything! We've been together almost 6 years and never even changed our relationship status on Facebook. FH actually doesn't even have facebook anymore. It is amazing how fast word spreads even without posting

We never posted about our engagement (though we never post about anything...) but i did change my profile pic to one of my engagement photos.

I did one post with a photo of us about a month after we got engaged. Nothing since then.

Ours was all over social media as it was done at a surprise party that I had planned for FH and everyone knew before I got there what was happening. So I posted this at the end of the night saying "The surprise was one me."

I just got engaged on Friday. We called our family and waited until later in the evening to let our friends know on facebook. I don't plan on posting anything else regarding the wedding.

We just put a picture of us with me showing my ring. Pretty basic.

I just sent save the dates in a private event on Facebook. So far so good

I posted my ring and got the congratulations comments and of course, the proposal story was asked about. But I have not posted about it since, as we want to avoid the self invites and whatnot. Our friends ask how the planning is going, but thankfully, most don't assume invitation or much information. There's been a lot of weddings with our mutual friends, so they've already been trained on ettiqutte! Lucky me!!

Anyway, enough about me. I love the way you set up the announcement! I was too excited to think of something. And your ring is gorgeous!

My DH is an IT and a video game nerd and I'm the furthest thing from all of that. We posted this picture which really encompasses us. And the ring snuck in there quite nicely too.

I posted a pic of the ring and said we were opening presents (Christmas Day) and this happened.

I think we just made a life event. Haha. After we called our parents of course.

We announced our just by changing our relationship status to Engaged and added a cute picture of us we both liked. That's it. I posted a selfie with my "I'm so happy I swiped right" wine glass and my ring on IG. Not at all worried about the "I hope I'm invited" comments (none so far). Just lots of "congratulations". However I don't plan to post much as the wedding planning continues, maybe for big things like saying yes to my dress but not planning on sharing the wedding date

Haven't had anyone bother us about the wedding invites or anything.

My FFIL made a post on my wall on my birthday (~2weeks post- engagement). Some people picked up on that other didn't. i avoided putting it on facebook because i dont want people to ask for an invite

I posted these two pictures and said "HOLY COW WE'RE ENGAGED!"

I just posted this picture with "I said yes!" ... and we only got congratulations comments, nobody invited themselves.

ETA: We didn't post anything else until the day after the wedding, when updated our facebook status to married.
