Hi ladies,

I'm looking for a fake diamond (CZ) engagement ring and wedding band to wear on our upcoming mini-moon and honeymoon. I don't want to risk losing my ring / having it stolen so I'm planning to wear a fake set.

Can anyone recommend a good, cheap site to buy something like this? I'm hoping to get one for less than $20, since I'll only wear it for a total of 3 weeks. And I'm in Canada, so websites that ship to Canada would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I found one on amazon for $11. Just search for cubic zirconia. Very sparkly and real looking

Most people in Bali are Hindu FYI. If pick pocketing is a concern, I would just wear a ring you already have on that hand. Why tempt the thieves?

I second the Claires/Icing suggestion. I got a fake ring from "So Good" jewelry (similar type store) for $12 that I have worn to Aruba on a family trip and in Mexico when I visited for spring break. I understand what people are saying about either just getting insurance and wearing your ring or not wearing it at all, but I personally thought it was easier to wear a fake ring to have the peace of mind of not having to go through insurance should anything happen to it. I will probably do the same thing for our HM- not because I am worried about pick pocketing, but because we will be doing a lot of water-related activities and I don't feel comfortable wearing my ring in the ocean. If it slipped off I would be devastated (it's custom) and the hassle of getting a new one just doesn't seem worth it when I can spend $15 for a fake.

I also got a fake set on Amazon for like $15. Mine are also fully insured but I don't wear mine when I sleep, shower, swim, etc. I didn't want to be constantly taking it off and on and risking losing it because I wasn't putting it in it's usual spot. And to me, insured or not, the original is the one with the most sentimentality.

If you want to wear a fake set, go for it.

What if someone breaks into your home whilst you are away and steals the real one??

Sorry, just playing the what if game can get a little silly. I don't see the point of spending a huge amount of money on a piece of jewelery if you are then going to be too scared to wear it. Defeats the purpose. You might as well just buy a $20 wedding ring in the first place.

However - if it's a heirloom I can kind of get it.

Try Etsy! You can probably find a vendor that ships to Canada. They have sooo many cute ones! I plan on getting one from etsy to wear when my engagement ring is gone for several weeks when they can fuse it to the wedding ring.

My FSIL and FBIL have qalo rings and love them. I plan on getting them for me and FH as well. They're not super pretty, but they're cheap and durable.

Amazon has amazing one for cheap and one that are expensive. If you feel like you will have to do this a few times I would go with one that you can get a few uses out of it. If you only need it for this one time just check the reviews for them turning your finger green.

I was on Amazon just last week looking at titanium wedding bands and kept seeing titanium CZ engagement rings too. It's a durable metal that won't turn your finger green. Prices were good

I'd check Claires or even ebay. I've debated getting a dupe.

I got mine from Myra's Collections on Etsy. . I think she ships to Canada.

If you want to swim in it, get a stainless steel because that won't change colors on you.

Schedule your ring on your homeowners or renters insurance and wear your real ring. It's not all that expensive and you can wear YOUR ring without worry.

@Annie My ring is insured, but it is one of a kind. Designed by FH and custom made by a jeweler who has since retired. Not going to risk losing it. I will never be able to get it replaced.

Ended up ordering a set on Ebay for $20 total Smiley smile Thanks everyone for the great suggestions!

My ring is insured. I plan to wear it to my wedding and honeymoon, but I will take it off when I go in the ocean etc. I understand wanting to get a fake one, I might do that too.
