Fake engagement/wedding rings to bring on honeymoon

@Janeen It is silly, I totally agree with you. But we wouldn't be wearing rings at all in the first place if we didn't like the symbolism, and we're cheezy and want to wear something on our honeymoon than go without. It cost us $14 to pick up some fakes so, not a big deal. Stupid? Yes. Still doing it? Yep!

Will get the rings in the mail today - we'll see how they look

I've thought about those rubber-type ones to use for travel/working out but haven't decided on them yet

We got a cheap set for our honeymoon to morocco because according to our moroccan tour guides, women get hassled less in the streets if they appear to be married. We didn't want to wear our real bands because the guides also cautioned us against it due to theft issues.

I bought a nice fake set off Amazon for $25! I put my real one in a safe deposit box while we travel. I don't want anything to happen to it. Going to get my husband a fake too. No sense in having to worry about it when fakes are a great option.

I have like 3 "fake" engagement rings haha. This is a good idea and I might do this! Especially since we will be on the beach and in the pool a lot. I would hate to lose it!!

We both have a titanium ring for work. But, I still wear my nicer set when traveling.

I'm kind of in the camp that buying a fake replica or something that is very different from your ring is silly. But I do understand getting an understated simple band. I have a diamond wedding band that matches my engagement ring, so I wanted a plan silver band to wear when traveling, or when i didn't want to wear my diamonds. So I bought a $5 sterling silver band that I brought to italy and wear most days.

I liked it because I didn't have to worry about it getting stolen or left or lost in a hotel. To each their own, but this made sense to me

I can understand the logic behind it (and had also considered it), but I agree with Janeen. We locked ours up in the hotel safe and just wore them when we went out to dinner. I don't wear jewelry to the beach/ocean typically, so didn't see the need for a fake set while away. Of course I love the symbolism, but we know we're married and that's all that matters.

I got us both silicon rings for when we work out / & his job. So we are wearing those to the honeymoon and if we lose them they are easy/cheap to replace! Bonus they are comfortable!

We did this as well. I knew the room had a safe and our rings are insured, but I would have just been sick with worry and I didn't want that on my honeymoon. I ended up spending about $100 on a set for myself from etsy that looks similar to my real set and about $25 on one for DH from Amazon. I wear the fake set 1-2 times/week when we go work out at the park straight from work, I wanted something that wouldn't turn my finger green! I wouldn't want to leave it in the car, and many times we use weights, kettles, med balls so I don't want to risk damage. Of course you can just go without, but I didn't want to go without a ring on my honeymoon and sometimes I think kind of morbidly, but if something were to happen to me, I like knowing that the ring is an immediate symbol to a person/EMT, etc, that I'm married and there's a husband out there that needs to be tracked down ASAP.

I thought about it but i'll be wearing mine on our wedding cruise and mini-moon and any other trip I take. I don't take mine off unless I shower or clean. I wouldn't recommend putting them in the hotel safe either. I've seen other stories on here that their rings were stolen out of the safe.

We will be bringing our real rings and these Qalo rings! FH was a little sad that I told him I didn't want to bring my rings with me. So this was our compromise! I'll still bring my set, but put my Qalo on for snorkeling, swimming, etc.

I wear a qalo ring to work and may just wear it on our honeymoon. I don't know though!

We bought qalo rings for ours. They were awesome! So comfy and we never took them off!

I bought a fake set from Amazon ($20 for both band and engagement ring) that I wear when we vacation. Obviously right now I only wear the fake engagement ring when traveling but for the honeymoon, the fake band will join. We tend to do physically active activities on vacation and I wouldn't feel comfortable having the real set on or leaving it at a hotel safe. FH isn't wearing a wedding band so no fake for him.
