Fake eyelashes- I'm torn

Nicole, on June 17, 2019 at 9:28 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 21
I love how they look but I dont know if it's worth the discomfort all night. They make my eyelids feel heavy and gross.... so I'm not sure if it's worth it. Can someone shoot some advice over? I did two makeup trials ..one with and one without. They obviously look better on but God damn are they annoying. I'll post pictures of two trials
One is more natural and one is more done up...its a mid summer wedding so I really dont want to feel crusty lol

I feel the same way. I love how they look but hate how they feel. I’m going to just get small clumps of lashes put on instead of a whole strip. And they’ll just be at the outside corner of my eye versus the whole eyelash line.

Are they strip lashes or are they individual? If they’re the strips I would definitely recommend you find someone who can apply the individual lashes. My first trial she did strips and I couldn’t stand them (also my first time wearing them). I decided to go with a different Mua that did individuals and it made a huge difference, not only did they look much nicer and more natural but they were much more comfortable. By the time she was done applying my makeup I couldn’t even feel them there anymore.
If that’s not going to be doable for you then I would say either keep practicing wearing them to see if they become more comfortable, but if they don’t, then don’t bother wearing them, your comfort is definitely priority especially on your wedding day.

You look pretty without them, so if they make you feel so uncomfortable, I say stay natural. You don’t want to feel uncomfortable your entire wedding day.

I also agree with Tina! Don’t let yourself feel uncomfortable for the sake of “looking pretty” when you look beautiful without them too! I will say though, strip lashes will feel a bit heavy for a few hours if you aren’t used to them. But the feeling does go away and then they shouldn’t bother you at all. My fav brand is Ardel, and they’re sold everywhere and are priced the best. I’d recommend giving them another shot and leave them on for at least 4 hours and see if there’s a difference. If they still bother you then skip them the day of!

No I dont, especially in the heat, all day long. I was laughing while telling my fiance that ever since i saw Anna nicole Smith in the Howard stern show years back, either fake eyelashes half falling off (what a train wreck), inqas traumatized lol

I havent done my trial to know how the fake lashes are but this is my concern too! Maybe you can wear them for pics/ceremony and then sneak into the bathroom, take them off and apply some more mascara for the reception and dancing?

I didn't have fake lashes and it was the best decision I could have made. I was being pressured into getting them and I was so glad I stuck to my guns and just rocked what the good lord gave me.

I like the looks either way. It's a long day and you don't want to be uncomfortable. I have my trial next month too, it'll be my first time wearing them.

Can you use a lighter glue or a smaller/lighter lash?

I have not.. but what bothered me about the full strip would be taken care of with individual or small strips, so I’m just gonna go for it. If they bother me I’ll take them off.

When I tested them out I did not like the feel of them and also I felt I looked ridiculous.

I wanted a little more dramatic look although I have pretty long lashes and my friend suggested a lash lift. It makes your natural lashes look longer & last 4-6 weeks.

Maybe you should wear them more often to get used to how they feel? Also some brands are lighter weight than others. You could also opt for some single lashes or quarter lashes, which might feel better than strips? I know that they are pricey but I've heard of people getting eyelash extensions for their wedding...maybe those instead?
