Fake Flower Hunt

Chantelle, on March 13, 2012 at 2:44 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 16

I have decided on doing all fake bouquets, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good website to get fake flowers from in bulk for a reasonable price. Fake flowers at Michael's and Hobby Lobby are just too expensive and I don't want to buy a stem a week with a 40% off coupon lol.

I'll be honest, I seriously have always thought fake flowers were only to be used for outside wreaths or as filler for an arrangement that would be primarily real, but.... I have found some very surprisingly good quality flowers at Micheals and Hobby Lobby, yes, they were $10 & $15 a stem, but if you go on a day that the flowers are 50% off its not so bad. Hobby Lobby puts their flowers on sale on alternating weeks (according to the sales girl) one week silks are on sale, the next week glassware ... and Hobby Lobby is better than Michaels, in my opinion Smiley smile

    I wish we had a Hobby Lobby. : (

Chantelle....If you sign up for the rewards program, Michaels often sends 20% off your total coupons. If you use that coupon with a 50% off per stem sale, those nice stems become less expensive.

    Good luck!

I bought some today from walmart, they had "bushes" (about 6 flowers on separate stems but the stems are connected at the bottom) for $0.94! I can put 2 together for a good-sized bridesmaid bouquet...hope this helps Smiley smile

Do you have a dollar tree near you? They have some decent looking fake flowers for $1/stem. I'm getting some from there to make my pomander balls

I always thought that would be tacky. However, after going to Michael's armed with coupons and a picture I saw online of a bouquet with jewelry and pearl sprays, I decided to buy them and having my talented aunt arrange them.

Best decision ever! I bought fresh flowers for my bridesmaids and by the time of the ceremony they were looking droopy :/

I say go for it, just pick the nicest ones you find and have someone really good arrange them!

Thanks everyone for the tips Smiley smile I will be looking around and trying to get the best deals. I have a Gold Rewards card for Michaels so I do get coupons, so I might have to go that route, I was just hoping to get them all at once in bulk for cheaper. Hobby Lobby is nice too, but they seem so expensive, when I was there last week the sunflower stems were $12 a piece! So it would be $6 per stem at half off...it still seems like so much money for the amount I am gonna have to get.

All of our flowers were purchased from Michaels using several 20-30% off coupons. Overall it was about $30 for all of the supplies for the bouquets, FG basket, and cake topper.

If you find a flower you really like from Hobby Lobby or Michaels you can order them in bulk. Also you can go into either store and usually get them 40-50% off depending on the week. I waited till the flowers I needed were 50% off and ordered them. They came in within a week. Good Luck Smiley smile
