Fake flowers cost HOW much?!

Mrs. Boat, on April 15, 2010 at 10:40 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 49

So I got a quote from Angel's Accents... for a bridal bouquet, 1 MOH bouquet, 3 BMs, 8 boutonnieres, 2 corsages = $567.

I know my price will go down cuz I probably won't find 3 BMs LOL, and so will the bouts... but, does that sound about right?

The flowers are all real touch... here's a link to their website: http://www.angelsaccents.com/3/miscellaneous18.htm

    Okay maybe I'm getting lucky at the flowers I'm looking at but that's expensive in my book. The flowers are very pretty but I would shop around.

    Hey girl Smiley smile

    Dammnnnnnn!!! I didn't think they'd be that much! However, I know real touch are considerably more expensive and plus you will have them forever the way they were on your wedding day! If you really like them consider getting the flowers for you and FH there and making your bridesmaids and groomsmen.

    Keep me posted!

    I know... I'll give you the break down:

    Bride bouq= $125 (add $15 for starfish bling)

    MOH=$80

    BMs= $60 x3= $180

    Boutonieres=$10x8=$80

    Corsages= $14x2=$28

    Shipping/insurance=$73.95

    B@LL BUSTIN' TOTAL = $566.95

    I'm with dream I'd get real touch for Bride Bouquet and for Boutoniere but if they aren't majorly important to you and you want to cut some cost then I'd go a different route for the BMs and Corsages but on the other hand if they are really what you want then they are what you want.

    Maybe I can get the bride/groom flowers, scratch the parent flowers, and get real flowers (from Sams, Kroger or something) and handtie them myself the day before for my BMs....

    Broken down like that, the price really is pretty good--they are really pretty, and $140 is what I'm paying for my bridal bouquet, which will be dead the next day. Maybe just scratch some of the smaller items like you're thinking--frankly, I would ask myself if I really care about boutonnieres, for one thing. FH and I ended up scrapping flowers for the male half of the WP because he really didn't care and my sister even said that usually they end up being crooked and not even looking that good.

    I spent under 250 for silks and managed to do centerpieces with roses, calas, hydrangeas and peonies for 25 tables, my bouquet, 3 BM bouquets and 5 bouts. I found some auctions on ebay and spent like 7 dollars for several bunches of roses. The hydrangeas cost the most but I really wanted them. I am sooooooo computer illiterate that I don't know how to upload the pics but will try to do that. The comments from my bridal party have all been very positive. Check out consignment stores, craft stores, etc. and def check out ebay!!! You have lots of time to pull it all together. Good luck!

    Real touch are not cheap at all. And of course you are also paying for her time. I don't know why the shipping is so high but that's neither here nor there. I don't know. It's definitely a personal decision. I remember visiting her site before and although she does great work, I was immediately turned off by her "welcome" message in which she stated she doesn't accept orders for less than $150. Umm ok.

    That is more than I paid for my real flowers. Danya: SF has an amazing wholesale flower mart on Saturday mornings at 6am, that IS open to the public. If you or someone else is up to it, you could handtie them.

    .

    Also, the florist I used is in the area, and he could do it way cheaper. Vanda florals in Petaluma.

    I know,what a brat LOL. jk.

    I think I'll just do the bride/groom package and then get the fresh flowers from Safeway or Sams the day before and handtie them. I'll only need a few more bouquets and a couple bouts. So... let's hope it works!

    I am using silk flowers and the lady I used charge $92 for my bouquet, two mother's corsages, and four bouts. That included shipping. I received the flowers and they are gorgeous! I would keep shopping around.
