Fake flowers: tacky or worth it?

Kayla, on September 9, 2017 at 4:03 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 27

What do you think?? I thought my fake flowers were fine and now I'm questioning.

Completely a personal choice, I'd say.

    I'm not a fan but it's a personal choice.

It really depends on the quality of fake flower. There is a HUGE difference between a fake flower from dollar tree and a fake flower from Michael's or Joann's.

A majority of WW users will tell you real or none at all but there are pros and cons to both real and fake flowers. Fake flowers are 'forever', meaning you can keep everything and either decorate your house or sell it to another bride.

Real flowers can be pricey and at the end of the day they wilt and rot. All that money in the trash/compost. Not to mention you and/or your guests might experience a flare up of allergies. But they are beautiful and fragrant in a way that fake flowers aren't.

It's your choice based upon budget, allergies, future plans etc. Etc.

Personal choice. I'm doing silk due to my allergies. I also love the fact that I can keep them.

I don't think "tacky" is the correct word. I don't like them, they look cheap to me, but as it's been said already, totally a personal preference.

I don't usually like fake flowers - but that being said - there are huge differences in fake flowers quality wise. Some are really nice, but they tend to be really expensive too - so real could be cheaper.

I priced both and to get good quality I was paying more just to rent fake flowers so I went with real.

I'm having both real bouquets, bouts, corsages, and aisle decor. I'll have silk in my centerpieces.

It is definitely a personal choice.. I definitely prefer 'real' flowers as opposed to silk

I think it depends on what type of fake flowers you use but I love how my bouquet and my bridesmaids' came out. We are getting real corsages and bouts just because it was only like$70 for like 20 of them so that's super cheap.

It's really up to you, but in most cases, fake looks fake, and if they're good enough to look real, they're going to cost just as much.

Really good fake flowers cost almost as much as real ones, but they're the only ones I think that are worth it really.

I have been to two different weddings that did a mix of both. The centerpieces and the bridal bouquet were real and the bridesmaids bouquets/the bouquet she tossed were fake. They all looked beautiful and you wouldn't even tell which were fake and which were not.

I personally like real but have seen some really nice fake ones and some really bad fake ones. I think what's important is where you buy them from too.

I personally love real flowers. I researched both however to see what would be a more cost effective purchase, and real flowers were very closely priced to fake flowers.
