Fake flowers?

What are your thoughts on having fake flowers at a wedding? Obviously not the cheap dollar store flowers, more like hobby lobby price range. I just don’t think I can get behind spending so much money on flowers just to have them die. Whether is be for center pieces or bouquets... I just don’t know...

    I love your centerpieces.

My bouquet will be the only flowers, and I got them from Hobby Lobby on sale. If the dollar stores had the specific flowers I wanted, you get I would've gotten them there. I've made plenty of crafts with Dollar Tree flowers that look as good as the more expensive one.

If someone thinks it's tacky or trashy to use fake flowers, tell them to hand over the money for the real ones then. People need to get over themselves, honestly.

All my bouquets will be real; but I plan to use “real touch” flowers for decor.

Mine are faux..... I felt the same way as you! I never really wanted my bouquet to die, even when I was little. I almost did a crystal bouquet but those were out of my price range, even DIY. I found some actual crystal roses way too late in the game that actually were made in a way that they would have looked amazing as a bouquet, too, but oh well--these ones above are Real Touch brand.

I just picked my fake flowers up today at Michaels. They were having a door buster sale for their fall decor so typical $20 bunches I got for $7. I had been waffling on it I was going to just get grocery store flowers but I realized I wouldn’t have time to make them with the time up to the wedding and I didn’t want that stress. They look really good I think!

I’m using fake. This is just a mock up. It will be better designed and filled out for my wedding. I’m excited. My parents good friends with a florist. He didn’t cousin wedding too and was real pretty. Im on a strict budget and even though flowers where important to me they was like 4 on my list after dress, wedding party attire and photography. Pick a pretty enough place to marry so you don’t have to decorate. My mom bought few things to decorate the chapel we are using but really it needs nothing at all. Keep that in mind with photos. It’s the pictures of people that will mean more to you than anything after the day is done

Nothing tacky at all! I couldn't imagine spending a lot on real flowers, if a small arrangement for each centerpiece wasn't included in my venue all my flowers would be fake. I am making mine with flowers from hobby lobby, Michaels, and Joanns. A work in progress, but happy so far. I almost got some off budget-brides.com they have really nice looking options, some more expensive than others. My favorite of course fell in the expensive category or would've ordered from there!

I actually hate real flowers. They smell like a funeral home to me so there wasn't even a question when it came to what type of flowers we were gonna use. We did use some from Michael's but the majority of them came from the dollar store. It also helped that we weren't looking for a specific flower but more colors so it all worked out.

Sadly it won't save you any money honestly. If you are comfortable doing the flowers your self just order them in bulk. Then if you want your bouquet to be fancier order that from a florist.

We are doing real flowers for the bridal party, parents, and grandparents. But most likely doing fake flowers for the center pieces. You can always preserve your bouquet!

I'm personally not a fan of faux flowers. I think they always look fake, even the higher quality ones. Plus, either now or five or years from now, they become garbage - and don't degrade the way that real flowers do. I didn't want to spend a bunch on flowers myself, so I bought bulk flowers and made my own bouquets, bouts, etc. Spent less than $200 total.

I am doing fake flowers for the centerpieces. I’ve been playing around with it and like what I did so far. I bought compote vases from Afloral and clear eifell flower vases I’m spraying to match the compote vases.

I say, if you really want real flowers, go for it. If flowers aren’t a priority then go with fake or no flowers at all. Weddings are a huge price tag and I think it’s important to spend your money on what matters most to you. Happy planning!

I was questioning the same thing, but we decided to go with silk flowers. Then everyone can keep them. Our center pieces have no flowers so it made it easy. I found what I wanted at budget-bride.com if it helps! plus, they come out beautifully!!
