Fake greenery mixed with real?

Fake greenery mixed with real? 1

Ok, I need some brides (or grooms) to talk some sense into me.

My fiancé & I have finally found what we think is our venue (after looking at 15)!
I just have one hold up. It has fake greenery chandeliers. In my mind I realize it’s fine, it’s far enough away people won’t notice & in all the photos of weddings I’ve seen there you can’t tell. Plus all the weddings we’ve been to have used fake flowers anyway, so it’s not like they will care.
I always wanted real flowers (& plan to on the tables & bouquets). Please tell me the chandeliers won’t matter, that it won’t clash with the real flowers or look cheap.

I think the fake greenery on the chandeliers won't matter at all to your guests. The real question is... is it going to matter to YOU? Is it something that is going to bother you when you look at your reception space? Is it something you will look at in pictures and hate? Is it something you are always going to think back on with regret? If so, it really doesn't matter how your guests (or anyone else for that matter) feels about it. I'm reminded of a bride on here who really hated the chairs at their venue, but everyone told her they were fine and no one was even going to notice, and she shouldn't waste the money on renting chairs. So she ended up using the venue chairs. And she HATED them. She hated all the pictures they were in. And she can't let go of the feelings of regret for not having rented nicer chairs. If you think it's something you can get past and let go of, then I wouldn't worry about it. But if you really hate the fake greenery and think it will be something you regret not addressing, then it's worth the time and money to fix it. Rather than replacing the faux greenery, you could add in real greenery with it, or add real hanging greenery.

I would feel assured that it’s not noticeable in any of the other photos you’ve seen in that venue. For your photographer to get a full shot of your venue, it’ll be one that’s pretty zoomed out anyway. You’ll have so many other photos that are closer to you and your partner where the ceiling won’t be visible. So how heartbroken will you be if those couple photos come back with the green being a slightly different shade than your other florals (which it’ll already stand out anyway, even if it were real, unless you used the same florals you’ll have in your bouquets).

Trends in the past couple years have focused eyes on tables and immediate spaces versus ceiling installations and flower walls. For those with budget limitations, this is a happy reprieve! Like Kimberly adds there will be few room shots. But, as Cece guides, would it bother you enough to be unacceptable? So, follow your gut. Will this be above the dance floor or hang directly over your heads? You can make a few modifications to fit your budget. I do think the lights with pointed doorway give off a medieval vibe. Here are some ideas to alter the aesthetic:

Add other shades of greens (fake or real) + your floral colors to make them fuller. Here with 2 wooden installations for an airy feel.

Fill downward and add trailing real florals of a contrasting color. Maybe add twinkle lights.Fake greenery mixed with real? 5
Change out to baby's breath for inexpensive lushness and simplify with a mostly white color palette.Fake greenery mixed with real? 6
Double down with shades of green by adding vines to your drapery and chandelier polls.

By the way, I don't know when these pics were dated. But, they're pretty to look at and makes the mind wander. Find your personal aesthetic and design away.
