Fake lashes ?

Kristen, on October 22, 2019 at 11:02 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 38
I have pretty short eyelashes so I have been considering doing fake lashes for the wedding. I have sensitive skin so I’m a little nervous. Are fake lashes worth it ? Is there a type that is best for people with sensitive skin and will not feet heavy on my eyes ?

The lashes and the glue should not come in contact with your skin, and a good lash tech will make sure you can barely feel your fake lashes

Fake lashes make a huge difference when doing your make up, I don’t think it should be an issue and depending on the type of lash it could touch your skin(I don’t know if you mean the fake ones that just last the night or the ones that last around 3 weeks) either way you can try them out before hand to see if you have any reaction, usually you could do a patch test with the lash glue

YES to the lashes!! As someone already said, a good lash tech or even your makeup artist should know how to add the lashes so they aren't bothering you. Talk to your makeup artist and try the lashes when you go In for a test makeup run prior to the wedding. In regards to which lashes to choose from? There are plenty of lashes out there that you would never know you actually had on lashes because they look THAT normal. I wear them on occasions when I'm attending and event and trust me they make a HUGE difference!

I agree with PP’s that a professional HAMU artist will be able to apply your lashes for you so that they feel okay.
In terms of sensitive skin, you might be safer just getting eyelash extensions. I know they’re more money, but they last longer and the extensions are connected to your actual eyelashes so it doesn’t affect your skin.

I was nervous too about getting fake eyelashes especially because I'm allergic to latex and the normal glue for them I would be allergic to so they had to use special glue. I didn't get them for my trial, but I got them for my brother's wedding which was four months before mine. My sister convinced me to get them for his wedding and I'm glad I did because I loved them so I decided to have them for my wedding too. They looked amazing and made a world of difference in my opinion.

Get lash extensions instead. They last longer, they look natural and the glue doesn’t touch your skin (unlike with strip lashes). Main thing is to go to a good lash salon.

Just go to a professional and you should be fine. Let them know ahead of time that you have sensitive skin.

I was a member of amazing lash studio and also wear fake glue on lashes frequently. Personally, I'm partial to glue ons. The extensions are 1) expensive and 2) Always had spaces where they missed a lash or two. The gaps drove me crazy. They also don't give the same wow factor that glue on lashes do.

I'm not a fan of lash extensions personally. I did a lash lift & tint - I loved the tint but one side of my lashes didn't react well to the lift. I'd just do falsies and find a glue for sensitive skin!

I have never worn fake eyelashes until my last makeup trial. They made my makeup POP!!! Do a trial to have time to get used to them.

i recommend getting Demi Whispies. The idea is they are thinner and lighter and not as long as others, so it’s more natural for people who aren’t used to them.

I'm torn as well! i have pretty long eyelashes but they don't have much volume. BUT i feel like i can always tell when someone is wearing fake lashes and i don't want that. but i would love full and luscious lashes! ugh.

Your HMUA should know what will work best!

I'll be using Ardell lashes on my wedding day. They don't feel heavy and they give you a lot of volume depending on which style you get! I've also used lash glue that's infused with aloe which didn't irritate my eyes at all!

I have an issue with lash glue and being sensitive to it. I have been using magnetic lashes and LOVE THEM. It took me about a week to figure out how to put them on and get used to them but literally love them now. No eye irritation, no glue, no risk!

Fake lashes are a game changer! I would talk to your makeup artist now and do a few trial runs. Make sure you’re comfortable with them on and that the glue doesn’t irritate yours skin. When they’re in correctly you won’t even be able to feel them, but wow do they look amazing!!

I’m concerned that fake lashes will look not natural. However, I have a super baby face so I think they might help make me look my age (the struggle is real)
