Fake Rings on Honeymoon?

JSull, on February 16, 2017 at 12:41 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 52

Hey all, I've seen on a few sites about people getting a fake E ring and band to take with them on honeymoon. Are a lot of you doing this? I would hate wearing anything but the real thing. We are going on a cruise and it stops at 5 islands. Since I wouldn't want to wear rings in water anyway, I was thinking of getting a Qalo instead of a fake diamond. Thoughts?

I hadn't thought of this but I think it's a great idea! Better to be safe than sorry. It's not like you can leave it at home for the day if you're going to be hitting the beach. People are going to be in and out of your room.

I was thinking of getting a qalo one as well! Plus I can wear it to the gym and to the beach at home.

My FH and I are doing this. The last thing we need is to lose our real rings or have them stolen. We are getting CZ and sterling silver, something cheap but not tacky.

There is a safe in our room, @bp. We have always left our money, ipads, etc in the safe when leaving the room. I would of course probably hide my real stuff in a wallet or something as well and then lock it up. But I just felt weird getting a knock off I guess. I think my Qalo idea will do just fine for daytime activities.

I think it's a bit silly to get another ring but if it feels right to you then do it. I plan on wearing my wedding band all the time and leaving my ering at home in our safe if we travel to places that are known to have a lot of crime. I've worn my ering everywhere we've gone since being engaged and sometimes just turn it so that the stone is on the side of my palm if I feel like it draws attention to me.

I just wore a cheapie little Kate Spade knot ring so I wouldn't care if I accidentally lost it and it would be highly unlikely to be the target of thieves.

I bought a $25 ring to wear on my honeymoon. We went to Kenya and Zanzibar and i didn't want to risk losing it or drawing too much attention. I probably would have been fine but it just made me feel more comfortable.

My best friend's mom went to Hawaii and her diamond fell out of the setting in to the ocean while snorkeling. I'm super paranoid since hearing that story, so I'll probably do a Qalo band. I know my ring is insured but I would be upset about losing my diamond for sentimental reasons.

I have a fake cz ring that is the same shape as my e-ring (emerald cut). I wear it when I do outdoors things where I might get dirty or damaged. I'm thinking about taking mine on our honeymoon, but I haven't decided yet.

We are getting fake rings for our honeymoon as well! I just don't fly with my ring, but I will admit I'm a semi paranoid person.

I plan on buying a fake ring just because I'm afraid of losing my ring while on our honeymoon.

I'll probably be doing this as well. It's not worth the risk of losing it.

I plan on doing this not only on my honeymoon but anytime I travel abroad. If something happens, I won't be too upset since it's not my real rings!

I went on a cruise with my fiance, but I did not have a fake ring.

When I was out doing excursions, I left the engagement ring in the room's safe. I would wear the ring again after I've showered and dressed for dinner. I do understand that a lot of people wear CZs and whatnot, and I think it's a great idea for some people. I just don't think anything can match up to the real ring when I'm dressed nicely for dinner and shows xD

My wedding band is going to be a simple gold band. Leaving the E-Ring in the safe deposit box and just wearing the wedding band.

I have insurance on my ring for this very reason.I don't ever want to feel like I need to wear a fake diamond for fear of losing the stone or the ring itself.

I do fully support the use of Qalo band, and I have a few in different colors that I wear when I go to the gym and lift weights (for comfort, not because I'm worried about damaging my ring).

But you do you. Whatever helps you feel more comfortable!

We brought our real rings with us but kept them locked in the safe during the day. We both have silicone rings which we wore while doing activities. We wore our real rings at night for dinner and dancing.

I got a fake cubic zirconia for my honeymoon. One for the pool and such but I had a friend who went out one night in Mexico and she was tripped in a club and a guy helped her up. She realized on the cab ride home her ring was gone. It was all a Ruse and they took it right off her hand.

So even a hotel safe can't help you there.

The sentimental value to me is worth just as much as the ring. I have ring insurance but I couldn't replace the sentiment with a new ring of the same value

My FH requested I get a fake ring to go on our honeymoon with. I love wearing the real thing though, it's so hard to part with it. But I understand where he is coming from. He always says that's his hard work, sweat and tears I wear on my finger lol
