Fake Rings on Honeymoon?

Get a QALO! Or a knockoff QALO on Amazon. They're good to have anyway to wear while you're working out, camping, traveling, etc. We're going to Hawaii and running the Kona Marathon. We'll also be hiking, ziplining, swimming, laying on the beach... none of that is appropriate for my 100 year old family heirloom engagement ring! It'll stay home locked up safely in my house

ETA: I know it won't look as nice in the evening when we're out. But I'd never forgive myself if something happened to my precious e-ring. His QALO matches mine, so at least there's that, LOL.

I would just lock up your real rings in the room safe, this way you can wear them if you want to. Like to the Captains Dinners or shows. Also we have the Qalo rings as well. FH bought them at Christmas time for us so we could wear them to work out or go mudding. I have to say I love it. I am currently wearing my Qalo, as my ring is at the jewelers.

I have a 2 faux e-rings one swarovski and from berricle.com. .. I've been on vacation about 3 times since we got engaged and I always leave my real e-ring at home. I do not trust room safe and even though my ring is insured I couldn't imagine having to part with the ring my FH used to propose. Having a "decoy ring" like I call them just It gives me peace of mind when i'm out of the country

I looked into replicas because my co worker has one. She is a commuter and just wanted to be safe. Its slightly smaller than her actual ring so that it doesn't bring attention but it's important to her to wear one. I was actually just thinking of my wearing my ring. The replicas places I found to do it were ok but I would get it in sterling silver and SS doesn't do well in salt water ( I love the ocean) so it really doesn't make since. Especially since that's the only time I cared to not wear my actual set...sooooo I think I'm just gonna keep the set at home in the safe.

I don't intend on wearing a fake ring. FH proposed to me on the first day of a 12 day vacationand my ring was perfectly fine. I left it in the safe when we went cliff diving or similar excursions and we have insurance so I wasn't too worried.

I also wore my engagement ring in Mexico while cliff diving. Probably dumb but I didn't want to take it off!

I love my Qalo! I have ended up using it a lot more than I had initially thought. I think that is a good idea. You can use it not only for your honeymoon, but at the gym, while swimming, and during outdoor activities.

We got silicone bands to wear in place of our rings for our honeymoon. It granted us both peace of mind, and we could do any activities we wanted without worrying about losing them or causing injury. Since then, we've worn them to go hiking, lifting, and I'll probably wear mine to go kayaking this summer.

I got a nice fake ring on Amazon for about $15 to wear on our honeymoon! No way in hell was I going to risk losing my (priceless to us) ring.

If your ring fits properly and you have it insured you shouldn't have to worry about it. I wore mine in a cruise in May, went in the pool and hot tub with it on and I still have my ring and it's still in perfect condition. If it really concerns you just get a cheap ring or qualo.

My ring fits perfectly and is insured but I wouldn't dare risk losing it. I'm not worried about it being stolen or anything. I just don't want to get it all dirty at the beach/pool. My wedding band FH got me matches my E ring so that has diamonds as well. I think I'll just get the Qalo for daytime on the cruise and wear the real stuff after the pool/beach is done for the day!

Personally, I can't wear costume/fake jewelry since it'll break my skin out. I hadn't thought of getting any sort of replica ring, but that's a really interesting idea!

FH and I got silicone bands (similar to qalo) that we are wearing on our honeymoon since we're planning on going zip lining and doing other activities that I wouldn't wear my rings during anyway (I'm paranoid). Plus I'm dropping my e-ring and wedding band at the jewelers to be soldered the Monday after our wedding (right before we go on our honeymoon).

I have a cz ring I wear when we travel.

I actually get more complements on my dumb fake ring than my real one.

We're having a DW in Jamaica. So we'll take our rings and wear them for the ceremony and the night. But, after that they will most likely go in the safe in our room when we do excursions and things during the day.

I'm having a hard time deciding this too. I think I will opt to wear my real set because we are going to Italy and will most likely not be spending a ton of time in an ocean or pool. I would be truly devastated to lose it or have it stolen but it should stay on my finger while we're there.

Right after getting engaged, FH and I went to an all-inclusive in Mexico and I do wish I had taken a fake one there. We were constantly in and out of the pool an putting on sunscreen so it spent most of the trip in the room safe.

This seems really unnecessary, unless you have like a Kardashian-size ring and are afraid of theft. My rings fit correctly and are properly insured. I don't wear my e-ring on the beach, in the ocean or pool, or while doing excursions. I would not go without my wedding band!

It may seem unnecessary depending on the situation, but for our honeymoon in Morocco, the travel agents and our guides have advised us to 1) not wear expensive jewelry (even a couple hundred dollars in value) and 2) to wear at least a wedding band as a woman to minimize the harassment you'll get. So yes, I will be wearing a simple silver band.

Definitely a GREAT idea. I unfortunately couldn't afford a honeymoon but if my husband and I did go, I would definitely do that!! Great thinking!!

I actually just ordered a fake ring! In a couple weeks I'll be going to San Francisco and didn't feel comfortable bringing my engagement ring. I ordered this one from Amazon for $8, and it looks similar to my real ring!
