Im sure this has been posted about but I am on mobile and can not search. I just would like to know pros and cons of real vs fake. Also do you think it would look wierd to do fake flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres but real on the tables for the reception? Is there a huge cost difference or...

I'm on team real. And yes, I can almost always tell fake unless they are very expensive fakes.

As for bouts, I've seen a lot of very creative bouts that are totally non floral, and I do love them, but for bouquets and tablescapes?

    Real

I am ordering my bouquet off of eco flowers. They are wooden flowers that you can keep as a keepsake. Then I am having all babys breath bouquets for my girls and garden flowers for my centerpieces to add to my rustic style I'm looking for.

I have severe allergies, so we did fake!

    Real flowers pros:

A: if you don't have allergies, they smell lovely

    B: they are beautiful

    Cons:

    A: they are expensive

B: bouquets made with real flowers tend to be very heavy

    C: they die

(The cons are things I've heard from friends who have used real)

    Fake flowers pros

A: they are often cheaper than real ones

    B: they are light weight

    C: they will last forever

D: they can be very beautiful if made from the real touch foam

    Cons:

A: they don't smell (this was a pro for me, due to my allergies)

B: if you're not careful, you can get cheap ones that look fake

    I got mine from

My sister did her own flowers at her wedding 2 years ago. They were fake and I honestly didn't know and didn't find out they were fake until last month! She got them at Hobby Lobby (Cala Lilies). She wrapped satin ribbon around the stem and kept it in place with pearl pins. They were so simple and elegant and really complemented her our bridesmaids dress (purple)

I am doing real because I just cannot imagine having fake. It's a detail that matters to me. I want to smell and feel and love my real flowers. I am going through FiftyFlowers.com and they are amazing! Since it is whole sale it brought my pricing way down, I was able to get tons, and I am spending around $900.
