Fall 2020 brides...whats your new guest count??

Alma, on July 11, 2020 at 5:46 PM Posted in Planning 2 91
I am curious to know how your guest count has changed due to COVID. I was holding on to hope that I could keep my 150 guest count for October, with safety measures...but no! I am not comfortable with that anymore and the health and safety of my loved ones matters most. We will drastically cut our guest list and make a decision in August of what that will look like.

Erin, that’s good and I wish you the best of luck! I was sticking to 150 and literally JUST booked my floral. But my state (Arizona) is doing HORRIBLE with covid. Our governor is the worst at managing the situation and not to mention our residents.....🤦🏻‍♀️

120 still but possible Change to smaller ceremony only. October is close but far and worried with the measures in place that may get worse by then.

As of right now, we are maintaining our original list of 60 for our November 21st wedding. Hopefully Virginia doesn’t drop the numbers allowed in gatherings. Right now we can have up to 250.

We had to cut to 50 per restrictions at our venue, but our original guest list was only about 58 so we didn’t have major cuts.

I went from 150 to 115 but it’s still too high! I really wanted like 80...but fiancé looked so sad when his friends weren’t included, he couldn’t choose between them so it was an all or nothing. I’m hoping like 20 decline!!

Right now we aren’t forced to cut guests and less than 20 people have RSVP’d for our October wedding. I think everyone is scared and unsure right now. We have had some declines. I doubt we’ll have anywhere close to 100 people. Maybe half that?

What state are you in and are they requiring masks? Parts of Ohio mandated masks because numbers began to increase. Now we are no longer approaching level 4...we are steady at level 3. Once we reach 2 is when they will look at lifting the mandate.

As of now all 130 invitations are going out. We will be keeping up with the news for if we have to cut people or not. I talked to my venue manager and she said we are good with 130.
I would hate to cut the list now, and then find out before the wedding everyone would be allowed.

Ours is not in fall, it’s next weekend but we cut 150 down to 50 and I still had people say they were uncomfortable with 50 people. We’ve done great efforts to spread people out at our venue. I went from 5 bridesmaids to 2. I think people will be more acclimated in the fall but at same time there will always be people uncomfortable so that’s why we aren’t waiting around for those people cause it could be another 2 years plus before they’d attend.

My daughter has 90 guests who RSVPd for an outdoor ceremony/reception in August in CA. She did not want more than 100 and would be more comfortable if ends up closer to 75.

115 is a safe number, given that there will be some declines as with every wedding. What social distancing practices are you implementing? I am in AZ so numbers are really high. However, the governor does not have really strict restrictions in place and I don’t think he will. Masks are mandated as of right now. Our coordinator says since our venue is so big and it’s outdoors, however, I still want to cut the guest list to 100 at MOST.

I meant to say since our venue is big and outdoors, our coordinator thinks we can make our original number work with social distancing.

That’s a good number. And since it’s outdoors, it’s easier to practice social distancing. She might end up with her ideal number since it’s rare that EVERYONE shows.

How are you feeling about it?? Are you okay with a 50% decline? I guess at this point it is what it is and what matters most is that you are marrying your one and only! I’m sure your event will be beautiful no matter the turn out!
