I am curious to know how your guest count has changed due to COVID. I was holding on to hope that I could keep my 150 guest count for October, with safety measures...but no! I am not comfortable with that anymore and the health and safety of my loved ones matters most. We will drastically cut our guest list and make a decision in August of what that will look like.

September wedding in NC--we had originally been planning on 120 and we're cutting down to 15 (us, immediate family, and wedding party), cancelling our venue, and doing a backyard wedding. Gathering size is still pretty severely limited here and I don't think it's likely our venue will even legally be allowed to hold an event for 120-150 people in September. We're on a limit of 25 for outdoor events and 10 per room for indoor events until at least Aug 7.

    Originally inviting 130, now 30-40.

Venue capacity went down to 90 to comply with social distancing, and that was a weird cut-off for us. Plus, we didn't feel comfortable hosting that big of an event anymore considering the circumstances.

    Hi Alma!
I am also in AZ... in Tucson, where are you? We were supposed to get married back in April and had to postpone until September. I sent out my new invites 2 weeks or so ago and have only received a handful back 😞 We were hoping to keep our number around 100 which was our original number but I am starting to think that might not happen. I wish you the best of luck!

We rescheduled our May wedding to August and our count was 300. Thinking that as the experts said this would be down with the summer heat. But its been the opposite.
Now it is under 150. And depending on what the governor says today we might not even be able to do that. We are providing masks and have santizer for every table. We are getting a large amount of criticism for still moving forward. Some experts are saying it will be several years before we truly see an end to this. So we will just have a small outside ceremony with just family if the group sizes for gatherings change. The problem is there will be no refund for most vendors.

This is a horrible time in this clip of history. Unfortunately I think this situation will change everything moving forward

WV here, too! We’re hoping to be able to invite 150 for our November wedding since Save the Dates went out when things seemed to be be improving. I’d be happy with 100 though and now wish we had made some cuts before sending anything out!

As of right now we can keep our normal guest count. Fingers crossed it doesn't change within the next 3 months

I live in AZ, too, and am so furious with the governor for being so wishy-washy and following the president's advice. I'm supposed to have 60 at the Phoenix Zoo, but as of now, I can only have 17 at my ceremony site and 30 at my reception site. I plan to send my invites at the end of July. If things don't improve dramatically, I am going to egg the governor's mansion!

We have invited 165 guests for our October wedding. Our venue is going along with the local and state government rules and are being very accommodating should we decide to postpone/reschedule the reception. Currently in Orange County, FL you can not have more than 50 people in a gathering. If that does not change we will do a small ceremony in October and reschedule the large reception for later.

Please, the more the merrier! One of my friends is on board, and at least one of my bridesmaids. I hate how he pandered to the guy in the White House and now all of us are paying the price. He does need to go to a hospital to see firsthand what he's done. Or God forbid get it himself.

Yeah I get you! It’s like a sense of guilt...I am starting to feel it. Especially because people keep asking me if we’re still having our wedding! I get that people are genuinely curious given the circumstances, but it’s hard not to feel like they are judging you Smiley sad

Hi Melissa! am in Phoenix! Omg, please do keep me updated on how that goes and what your turn out is...since our wedding are both in the fall here in AZ. I think it’s still soon and people do take their time with the RSVPs. I’m sure your wedding will be beautiful no matter what. Just know that you’re not alone and we’re all right there with you. We are covid brides and it sounds horrible lol

Oh my goodness Jennifer, I’m so sorry that you are getting backlash. How did today go? What did the governor say ? I agree with you though. I really think it’s going to be a while for the country to get this situation under control. I think microweddings are going to be the new norm also. Smiley sad they are beautiful, it’s just what a lot of us imagined our wedding looking like.

California bride here! For our September wedding, we cut down from 250... to possibly 10-20 depending on our county’s restrictions (mainly just parents and maybe our wedding party). So far only 12 people or less can congregate outdoors so just waiting to hear more soon. Hope you’re doing okay too!!

I was very surprised my fiance cut out out his friends with no hesitation! I did, as well. The only friends invited are those in our very small wedding party + their significant others. Good luck on his friends declining. Tell them their will be no booze!! Smiley tongue

Our ballroom-type, indoor venue is still allowing 250 which is really irresponsible in my opinion. We are currently looking at inviting 75 guests, hoping that our final number will be around 50. We now have to turn the ballroom into a ceremony, reception and cocktail space! I think (I hope) it can be done.

Lol! Tell them there’s no booze. I’m sure the restrictions and guidelines on my Covid-19 insert card will turn some people off and the only one that really cares for us or isn’t scared would attend. My wedding isn’t like most Laotian or Cambodian weddings where there’s Hennessy bottles on each table, shots after shots, 400+ people, etc. So they already think my wedding is boring and “American” just because I don’t have what they’re used to. It’s more formal...and many other Asian cultures do it this way too.

Where in CA is your wedding? In our county we are allowed 100 people for outdoor ceremony. The reception is also outdoors and falls under those dining regulations. She is having 90 guests.
