Fall brides: How’s everyone holding up?

Ciera, on July 1, 2020 at 8:05 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22
Happy July!! We are in a new month and getting closer to the end of the year! How are all the Fall brides holding up? I’m November 14,2020 and literally put planning to a pause due to so much uncertainty/ going back and forth with vendors trying to figure out what could work/ trying to decide if we should move forward or cancel.

I literally got to a point where I’m about to put two choices in a hat and call it a day. I know which ever decision I choose I’ll be happy with, cause I get to marry my beat friend 😊

We ended up postponing our October wedding to next year but are now excited in planning our mini ceremony in the backyard so we can still get legally married this year.

I guess I cannot help because I am having an intimate ceremony with our two friends and to me, while this sucks for me I just want to marry my guy. I get it I was not planning a lavish, large affair to begin so it makes it easier but honestly I think if I were I would still forego it. I could not imagine waiting longer. It has already been almost a year and I do not want to wait longer to become his wife. Smiley smile Good luck to whatever you decide.

I’m October 4, 2020 and stressed. I’m in CA and the Governor just locked some businesses back down today. My venue hasn’t been open since March so it’s still unknown if we’re going to proceed in October. Not to mention they keep calling for payment.

I just had a talk with my fiancé today about a plan B. I do not want to get married next year because I’m having a big 45th birthday party and my daughter graduates high school. I’m thinking of finding another venue that we could use and cutting the guest list if need be.

That definitely takes the stress off your shoulders with everything going on right now, but will be even better that you are still planning to get married this year! I’m sure both will be magical and special🥰 congrats to you and yours !

You’re helping by commenting☺️ I feel ya though I can’t wait to marry my beat friend😂 just realized it said that instead of best, lol. We were planning on inviting 130 probably 100 would show up but just with everything even though I just am done with the uncertainty and am so ready for November to be here, so we can finally be legally married. I wanted to postpone but we have so much already planned in the beginning I’m not even sure my vendors would be available in May if we did which would postpone us even longer, and girl aint nobody got time for that. I’m with you I’m ready to become his wife! I wish you and yours the best 🥰

That’s my birthdayyy!! I’m in Texas and things are just sky rocketing every day! I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with that, they haven’t gave you no update since March? If not that’s messed up they should have someone reaching out to you and other brides during these times, but yet they want to call about making a payment whew chile🙄 they better provide some type of up date if they want any type of money!

Definitely keep trying to reach out if you can, start looking into plan b’s just Incase so you can still have your special day!
Happy extremely early birthday, and congratulations to your daughter. I know whatever you decide will be special. 🥰

I'm in CA too! Getting married 10/10 and I'm definitely feeling the stress! Our governor has been pretty stricked and it's getting me worried about what things might be like three months from now. But I'm trying to stay positive! My venue has been optimistic, mostly because my guest list is so small (about 40 people) and the county has very low cases. I'm still planning as usual, but our plan B is to elope in our backyard if we have to.

I am in Cali too and I'm worried. Just spoke to my planner today and she encouraged us to postpone to next year due to receptions not being allowed in CA (only ceremonies). However we do have 3 months for this to turn around and for gatherings to be allowed. I do NOT want to postpone, turning 35 this month and want to start a family so the click is ticking. Super stressed about this and hardcore wishing our Governor wasn't so strict 😢

We’re still planning on going ahead with our event and honeymoon, unless the state or venue forces us to cancel.
We’re set to be married November 21st in coastal Virginia with a guest list of 60, if everyone attends. Most of our guests are coming from other states (PA, CT, CO, TN, and possibly NC).

Ours Is Oct. 17th In VA With 60 Guests. We Arent Postponing And Havent Had To Make Any Changes. Its Too Early To Decide Whether To Postpone Or Not Even If We Were Considering It. Things Can Change In A Few Months Time.

I really hope we can have our receptions too, 😢 CA hasn't really been clear about weddings in general. All I remember is that weddings are under phase 3, and we were so close in getting there. What county are you in if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Marissa, so from my understanding phase 3 includes only ceremonies, religious gatherings, etc (wedding ceremonies included) but not wedding receptions. But other brides on here have venues who are allowing them to have both reception and ceremony so I'm wondering if we need to switch venues or what. Our wedding is in Sonoma County, which is close to the Bay so I'm worried we won't get into stage 4 (which is where my planner said we need to be to have our reception) by September. But none of this makes sense, gyms and movie theaters are allowed to be open in Sonoma but no receptions?

Yeah. Do you what you need to do but for me personally, I would sooner cut the guest list to fit within the state or city guidelines so I can keep my day. We decided to get married last year September and I could not see me waiting any longer ha ha. I mean would things change between us if we did of course not but I just want to have a lovely day and I am making back up plans in the event our state goes into lock down but according to my vendor even when we were in lock down, the max amount of people for gatherings was 10 people and with officiant and photographers I am good. Plus no guests in the bed and breakfast the day of weddings and events. But if I need to, let's go to random park near the water and get hitched and dinner at my place lol. I hope nothing shuts down and I can do my day as planned but at this time I just want to marry my crazy man. I hope things work out for you.

Hello! Yeah I've been seeing that on here from other CA brides too. So I think it depends on the venue's own rules and regulations, and of course what county they are in. I'm getting married in El Dorado county which has low cases, and my venue is a restaurant with the ceremony space outside. The venue owner has been optimistic that my wedding will be okay as long as my guest count is low and we space out tables, chairs, provide masks, hand sanitizer etc... How many people are you inviting? Stage 4 is for much larger gatherings like concerts, nightclubs, live audience sports, etc, and I don't think CA will be there yet. I would maybe look into different venues if you can. I'm sorry this has been hard for all of us 😔 I wish all the good luck to you!!!

Which county are you getting married in? I'm Sept. 25th in Fresno county and also very stressed. I've already postponed once! Our guest list is between 100-150 :/

Oh I think I just commented on your post haha. I'm getting married in El Dorado county, where the cases are much lower. Like I said, it totally depends on your own location. If you feel your guest list is too high, could you possibly cut it down if you can?

You did! lol thank you. I honestly think my guest list is going to go way down because people won't want to attend with everything going on Smiley sad The reason I did not go with a venue was because I dreamt of a big wedding. But it is what it is. Thank you for sharing that website!

Are you doing a bridal shower? This is another event that I am quite stressed about.

Yeah I'm planning on having a bridal shower in my backyard with a very small group, maybe about 10-15 people (of course with masks and social distancing). Definitely not how I thought it would be like though. Totally know how you feel, but I try to think about the end result of marrying my man, and that's all I want at this point! Honestly, sometimes I think about just eloping in Tahoe, and forget about everything else hahaha.
