Fall Ceremony Start Time?

Katelyn, on July 26, 2018 at 10:28 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8

Hello ladies! I am getting married in late November and the sun starts to set around 5:30PM. I know most ceremonies (or at least the several I have been too) have been short and sweet so I don't anticipate ours being too long, but I want to try (weather permitting) we hit that golden hour for photos because the views at that time are phenomenal Any fall brides have some insight on when they are starting their ceremony? Thanks!

We are getting married Nov 3 precisely for these reason...the extra hour of light, as its the day before daylight savings! It sounds as if you arent doing first look...we aren't either. So we are having people come at 4 and starts at 4:30, I would suggest you doing everything an hour before if you want to get the light in...maybe even 2:30 PM start time?

Our ceremony starts at 6 and the sun will set at 6:36. Our ceremony will be 20-30 minutes long and we budgeted 15-20 minutes for golden hour photos (we’re doing a first look). These were times recommended to us by our photographer. Maybe you can ask yours what he/she recommends. Good luck!

December 8th here, planning outdoor ceremony with start time of 4:30 pm. Sunset is 5:06 pm that day, we’re doing a first look so we don’t need much time post ceremony for pictures.

I'm also getting married October 6th. We are having our ceremony at 4pm and waiting to do our photos at sunset which will be around 6pm. The ceremony will only take 15 minutes. We decided to do family photos after the ceremony/ at cocktail hour and then greet our guests and start the reception. Then do more photos at sunset with just the 2 of us. I didn't want to do a first look because I wanted that magical feeling of my FH seeing me for the first time when I walk down the aisle.

We are getting married Oct 13, outdoors at a friend's lake house. There is a grassy area between the tree line and the lake, where the ceremony will be. Sunset is at 617pm. We took into account the sun angle and that it will be setting behind the treeline (and terrain), putting the ceremony spot in shadow by 4pm. So we decided on a 3pm ceremony time.

I’m getting married oct 27 .. hopefully outside ( in New England ) so who knows really .. but our ceremony is set to start at 4:30 assuming everything goes right well start on time .. short ceremony 20-25 minutes, the sun sets at 5:48 that day so we’ll probably have about a good hour to get photos .. we’re not doing a first look though, but we are getting to the venue early to do our wedding party photos !
