Fall Wedding Timeline

Hi ladies! I need some suggestions from brides that are having/had their wedding in the fall. I'm stumped on when our ceremony should start. Our wedding is October 17th & we're having it in Montana. We're going to do a first look & are going to have pictures done before the ceremony & I know that the sun will be setting a little bit earlier at that time. Any suggestions?? Thank you!😊

I’m Nov 24 in NC in the mountains. We moved our ceremony up to 3pm so we could get plenty of photos before dark at 5:15.

Ours started at 4pm and we still had tons of time to take pics and see all of our guests.

We are Nov 21, 2020 in PA. Ceremony will be at 3 and will be half an hour long. We are also doing a first look.
Our photographer recommended having the ceremony 2 hours before sunset so we have time to do a sunset photo shoot. I’d recommend looking up the time of sunset for your day and base the ceremony time off of that.

Our ceremony is 11 . We opted for a day wedding because of fall hours and the venue is a little dark.

Talk to your photographer and look up the expected time of sunset at the ceremony location for the day of your wedding. S/he can help you work backwards to figure out how much time you'll need for photos and the ceremony depending on whether you're doing first looks, any bridal party or family portraits before hand, etc.

Our date is October 24th, We are going to do a first look as well and we are going to start that at 2pm then I want to start the ceremony at 4pm and have cocktail hour follow right after (just to flip the room for dinner), dinner reception from 6pm- 8pm after all that we are going to have a pre-turn up party at our house then we are going to a after hours lounge for the party part of the reception at 11pm.

I'm getting married November 27th, 2020 in Estes Park, Colorado in the mountains/forest. We are actually going to our venue within the week of November 27th this year so we can see exactly what time the sun sets and plan based on that. Right now we have it set for 3pm because the sun is typically completely set around 4:30pm so we can have our 30 minute ceremony and then get some gorgeous sunset photos too. I would highly recommend going to your venue around the date you are getting married. I know you are on October 17th, so you can also ask the venue when past weddings on your date had their ceremony.
