False Eyelash Opinions?

Stephanie, on April 5, 2018 at 11:38 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 17
Hey ladies!

So I think I will be doing falsies for our engagement session and my wedding. But, I want it to be more of a natural look, not all glam. Lengthen and thicken - but not touchin’ the top of my eyebrow, if you know what I mean.

Anyone have any opinions, advice, or preferences when it comes to lashes?

thanks in advance!!

I have used red cherry lashes, house of lashes, Ardell lashes

I think Ardell has what they have the whispies which are not dramatic and overwhelming, more natural and everyday wear

I love the whispies. But they are dramatic IMO.

I bought a Sonia Kashuk pair of lashes to see what i look like and etc and their “natural lash” looked crazy on me!! Hahah! I have heard great things of house of lashes and Ardell.

I not a big lash person at all, but when the time came to do my engagement photos, my lil sis (who always wears lashes) suggested a little drama in the lashes cause they look great in photos. I will admit they are very annoying on the eyelid and eyebrow area, however, when my pictures came back I was pleasantly surprised and happy with how the photos came out. My eyes popped out with the help of the the lashes. Son from one girl to another who isn't a lash wearer, go with a little hint of drama.

I hear a lot that I have great lashes and many friends were surprised that I was going to go with fake eyelashes - so I think if I were to get a natural pair, it would give me just enough drama that I’m looking for!!

Have you thought about getting eyelash extensions? They're pricey, but they look real and last for several weeks.

I have, but I’m more looking for day of looks. If I didn’t have several months between my engagement session and wedding I would take extensions into consideration. That and I work outside in the Florida heat and weather - I don’t know how well they’d last for me doing that 60hrs a week!!

You can use literally any brand but pick the ones that look the smallest and the shortest. I have been using Ardell (sp?) for years and they have so many different styles to choose from. I also like the eyko brand. You can get both of these at Ulta - which i think has the best selection of cost friendly lashes.

I had false eyelashes for my makeup trial, they looked great but I hated the way they felt. My aunt recommended getting eyelash extensions. They're much more comfortable and way longer lasting, and they can be done to match what you're describing.

There’s a place here in Iowa where you can get a “Lash Lift” rather than fake lashes. It’s lifting your real lashes and darkening them a little. I have super watery eyes so I think this will be my option, I don’t want to be one eye lash down before the reception! Lol anywho, you should google lash lift because the results are incredible! Plus it lasts 8-10 weeks! And it’s your REAL lashes.

I love the Ardell individual lashes, love them. I would wear them daily if I knew how to apply them (afraid of gluing my eyes shut 😂). My natural lashes are pretty long, so I just wanted a fuller look, and individuals were perfect for me.

A lot of people are in the same boat as you for fake eyelashes and therefore natural looking false lashes are easy to come by.

Do you have a medium to light haircolor? If so, What I recommend is finding a lash set where the color of the lashes aren’t so much black but rather slightly off black (like dark brown). I say that because some of the black lashes tend to look a bit more dramatic even though it’s only a very light change of color.

something you’ll want to look for it bluntness. If the tips of the lashes all form a straight perfect line and look harsh don’t go with those. Look for lashes that have wispy ends.

as a rule of thumb if your eyes to look wider go with lashes that are longer at the outter corners and are shorter in the inner corners. You can really get creative with lash shapes

I use the Ardel individuals, in the medium length. It adds fullness and helps my lashes-which refuse to curl- to have a little curl to them. They still look pretty natural though. I get the ones without the knot on the end and apply them from the outside, in. In this pic, Ive supplemented with some of the long individual lashes as well.

My HMU artist used the Kiss “shy” lashes on me today and I loved them.
