False eyelashes...yes or no?

Annie, on August 7, 2010 at 10:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 36

I think it would look very nice, but thinking it might be a pain in the butt if it's hott outside or they start falling off!

what do you think?

Was it a lot of money to get your makeup done and have the lashes put on professionally?

I wear them frequently, but if you've never worn them- do a trial run a few times. They aren't hard to do, but take some practice. I've never had them fall off from the heat, or any other reason (except when I feel asleep with them on...).

Try them a few times, but I love them!

Good question, I wanted to do the fake eyelashes too, but never have before. Does it take long to put them on??

I've been doing it a while, so it takes me about 2 minutes...

I've never had them done professionally. I know you can get 'extensions' done professionally that are sort of expensive and last a while. I just use the ones from the drug store and they work great for me!

My daughters makeup artist recommended them, but then did not use them, as she has very good lashes....so mascara was enough.

I definitely agree that false eyelashes can be an added benefit to your wedding attire -- especially for pictures. I also agree that if you choose to use the drugstore variety, definitely invest in a few different styles to see what suits you best as well as to gain confidence in application and wearing.

I used to be really good at putting them on, but I lost my touch. I'll keep working at it! I've got about 3 weeks to go! =o

I highly reccommend false eyelashes. Most of our brides get them. They stay put if put on correctly and have the most dramatic effect. I would push for the individual lashes instead of the strips. {I think they look more natural} Best of luck!

I wouldn't worry about the heat too much. I live in Tucson, AZ and a few weeks ago I needed my make-up done for a professional photoshoot; the lashes put on by the professional make-up artist looked great in the photos and I had a difficult time getting them to come off that night. Also, to be specific it was over 100 degrees that day.

Nothing better to make your eyes pop. your make up artist will put them on and they will last. after the wedding, i loved the look so much I went and got semi-permanent ones. they last about a month and look amazing, i've had one refill and haven't wore mascara in over 6 weeks. they put them on individually and they last weeks, you lose a couple here and there over the few weeks, but they are amazing.

If you get the eyelash extensions done by MAC..they last about 4 weeks and feel very natural.

False lashes wont fall off in the heat if you have enough glue the wind is worse than head I always wear falsies for special occasions, but I agree if you'v never put them one try it a few times before or get them done by a makeup artist

There is some really good info on wedding day eyelash options here: http://indiebliss.com/ladies-who-lash/

Very helpful for people like me who don't ordinarily wear 'em.

I've used fake lashes quite a few times. I've always gone with Mac lashes and the glue that they sell as well. They are actually quite easy to put on and I've never had a problem with them coming off. If you go into the store and ask, they will explain how to apply them and give you some pointers. Also if you tell them what look you're going for (meaning anywhere from natural to totally dramatic) they will find the right lashes for your style

I had mine done by my MUA at Mac (who happens to be my bff from elementary through HS.) First time wearing fake eyelashes too. I was tipsy leaving my reception and took them off in the car! Umm...I so don't know how it happened but the next morning when I went to shower, I found one stuck on my rear end. I know, I know...TMI. It was hilarious though. lol

Yes get the lashes. If you are on a budget try Mac or Sephora where ever you live and they do makeup for $50.00. I am having my wedding in Puerto rico and I have appts at both Sephora and Mac can't decide whick one I am gonna use.

    But my question is:

Do they take off your natural lashes when you try to take the fake ones off???

Is it better for the makeup artist to take them off for you?
