False Lashes on top of gel eyeliner

Liz, on September 13, 2019 at 6:17 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 5

Hello! Lately I been using a bit more eye product since my eye area tends to look so dead (lack of sleep from wedding planning and other life events). A while back ago I loved using Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner and want to go back to using it. I was wondering if anyone has used false lashes with gel eyeliners on. Everytime I use false lashes I use a liquid liner under and hasn't been a problem. I was wondering since gel eyeliner has a bit of a different consistency if this would cause the lashes to lift. I'm still a bit new to lashes so I have only recently figured out how to get the corners and ends of my lashes to stick to my eyes.

It shouldn’t be a problem. Make sure to wait a minute after putting glue to the lashes before applying so it gets tacky and doesn’t slide/lift off

I use house of lashes glue, so I'm not sure if this is universally true. I apply the glue to the false strip and, while it's getting tacky, I swipe a thin line of the glue across my lash line (over the liner). This way I'm creating a barrier so im sticking glue to glue. I have worn them 12hrs, cooked, hot shower, splashed water in my face, worked out, and ran errands and had zero issue. Came right off with my clinique remover.

Maybe this could help if you run into any problems.

Hey there, Liz! In my experience, I have always put my liner on after lashes as I like to use the lash line as a guide! Perhaps you could trial it both ways and see which one works better for you Smiley smile

Hi! I have tried that too before but I actually like eyeliner first as a guide to where my lashes should lay on. I feel like the times I've tried it without liner I've always put it a little too far from the lash line lol!

Hi! I don't use house of lashes glue but I have tried this method. I usually put the glue on the lashes and while I wait for it to dry I swipe a small line at both the inner and outer corners of my eyes and I found this has helped my lashes from lifting at either corners. I have only done this with liquid eyeliner though so my question was a little more geared towards gel eyeliners since I think some of them may have oil in them to make it creamier. But from what I read online Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner is oil-free Smiley smile
