That's really sad for you and for her. Unfortunately, all you can do is just continue to show your mom you will still be there for her, and live your life.

I think this is one of those things where you just have to give her time. Make sure you do try to keep in touch with her as much as you can and let her know how much she means to you. Over time it will become more normal and while she'll still miss you it won't be such a new wound.

Everyone in my family absolutely LOVESSSS my husband, not one person has a problem with him. Too bad we can't say the same with me and his family lol a few of them think that I "tell him what to do" and run our household. He simply distanced himself from them if they couldn't respect our relationship and he continues to make the family that we're building a priority over the family that he came from.
