Farewell Brunch

Deidra, on April 22, 2021 at 10:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Since mom & dad have been putting items in my Hope Chest the past few years, I don't *really* need much gift wise. So instead of a bridal shower, I wanted to host a Farewell Brunch the day after our wedding as a way to thank guests for coming, see them off & (if they're so inclined to give a gift), provide an opportunity to present a gift.

My guest count is 70. I do not have a location for at the moment. What should we serve?
So far, we're considering looking at Sam's for mini pastries, fruit platters, bottled juices & mini quiche.

Ask a local restaurant if they can do drop off catering (usually very inexpensive under $500). You may be able to rent a facility from the local parks department.

Pastries and fruit plates sound perfect to me. Tea and/or coffee would also be appropriate for the time of day. If Sam's doesn't work out, I know Panera and a couple other similar restaurants do catering orders and deliver both light breakfast and large dispensers of coffee (I know this is what they did for a large training seminar at work that was held early morning). Probably other coffee/breakfast places like Starbucks and Dunkin' do similarly.

Definitely have coffee! I think little fingerfoods are perfect. Don't discount local bakeries and (as previously posted) Panera!

If your crowd likes to drink, maybe you could do a mimosa bar! I had one at my bridal shower (it was a brunch too!). I've included some pics at the link below for some potential inspo!

I think that sounds perfect! Finger foods are definitely the way to go, just make sure you've got a good variety!!

Bagels could be a good addition as well! 🥯

That sounds great and well balanced to me—I’d call it a continental brunch or something though so people aren’t expecting anything substantial.

I will say I’ve never heard of a farewell brunch subbing for a shower and no one at any of the farewell brunches I’ve been to has gifted anything because they would have just given cash the night before.
