Farewell dress? Yah or nah?

Shalonda, on March 12, 2017 at 5:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

My wedding dress has a corset back. It takes approximately 25 minutes to get stringed up. Should I get a dress to change into to leave the reception? If I do decide to get a 2nd dress, I would not change into until 30 minutes before our exit.

Why?? I have never heard of doing this and don't really understand the purpose.

That's a waste of money imo.

If you've got a long drive afterwards or you're leaving immediately for your honeymoon, go for it! Otherwise, skip it. Let your hubby get at that corset later!

And a side tip: if you put safety pins in the tips of your corset strings to lace up, it's so much faster!

I can't imagine why you would do this. It sounds like a massive waste of time and money. So you miss a big chunk of your reception and buy another outfit for what exactly?

What are your plans right after the reception? Is it really worth bothering with changing?

If ur leaving for ur honeymoon right after the reception then maybe. Just pick up a cute and comfy white dress, But if ur just going home skip it. Enjoy ur dress as long as you can,

All I am going to say is: I have a corset back. I debated about just staying in my gown, but did not want my man to have to deal with helping me with it later. I will change into a send-off dress right before hubby and I leave our reception. Here's the thing, I got mine at Dress Barn for $10.

I'm leaving the reception in my corset-backed dress...and immediately going upstairs to our hotel suite to change into my afterparty jumpsuit. (Unless I decide I just have to keep it on to go to the hookah lounge, which is an increasing possibility. Because my dress is fracking amazing.)

25 minutes to tie your corset back? Is a 3 year old doing it?

I understand a reception dress but a send off dress seems pointless because you're just walking out the door.

Why does it take so long to tie? I too have a corset back and it doesn't take long at all.

Do you realize you leave the strings strung through the loops, but loosen them to get in and out. Then all you need is someone to tighten it?

I'm changing but because we are driving off on my FH's motorcycle. I can't imagine riding off in my dress. I'm wearing a white romper.
