Hello. I am currently starting a fasting diet where I only drink coffee and lots of water for two days. I can have some protein if needed, but the goal is to shrink my stomach. Hello. I am currently starting a fasting diet where I only drink coffee and lots of water for two days. I can have some protein if needed, but the goal is to shrink my stomach. When I purchased my wedding dress, I weighed 128 lbs. The zipper wouldn't zip at the very top (near upper back and bust area), and I just needed to lose 5 lbs and do some arm workouts then. I am 5'2" and now weight 158 lbs. I need to lose 35 pounds and a friend of mine said this works. She a ballerina and says whenever she needs to lose 10 lbs fast, she drinks nothing but coffee and water for a whole day. Except Im just going to have a little bit of protein as well and am going to do this for 2 days. After the two days I am going to start a low carb diet with some light exercise routines, and running. Has anyone done this and if so does it work really good? thanks

I've lost 23 lbs in 7 months. I haven't even had to try THAT hard. I'm not big either. It's easy. Just got to have some discipline, but don't fast. That's so bad for your body.

Eat healthy and exercise. I need to lose weight for my dress too and I'm in April.. We still have time. This is incredibly unhealthy and unsafe.

The new plan you just mentioned sounds much better! Drinking coffee and water only for 2 days sounds terrible!!! That's extremely unhealthy

Sounds like you want to put your body into shock and end up gaining a shit ton more weight later on. Lose weight the healthy way. Don't be stupid with your health.

Wow yeah don't do this. It is unhealthy and can seriously damage your body. Not to mention you have plenty of time to lose way more than 35 lbs if needed. Doing this can jack up your metabolism and actually make you gain a ton of weight when you start eating again.

Do not do this!! You have plenty of time until your wedding. Count calories and exercise, I promise you will see the weight come off. Besides, once you start eating normally again any weight you lost during this "diet" will come straight back

Or, you know, you could just improve your diet overall, make sustainable, healthy changes in what you eat and in your workout regimen, and benefit from those results since your wedding is several months away.

Please don't do that. Consider a healthy diet & a workout regimen. Also, look up JJ Smith 10 day smoothie cleanse. She has a FB group as well. I lost 10 lbs in 10 days & a whole lot of inches. It also helped get rid of a lot of bad eating habits.

Not a healthy way to loose weight!! Eat healthy and workout! You have time! Try the 17 day diet! You eat healthy all day pretty much and do 3 cycles of 17 days each. Much healthier choice!

Eta- you'll keep the weight you lose off better if you choose a healthier diet

Starving yourself is not a good idea. Your metabolism will slow down and as soon as you eat any food your body is going to hold on to those calories as fat because it thinks it's starving and you will actually GAIN weight.

Your wedding is pretty far...are you thinking that you can maintain that long eating so little...as soon as you start eating as you regularly do the weight will come right back on. Two days of fasting will not really benefit you. Try watching what you eat...eating foods that your body will benefit from and use for energy. Stay away from the junk foods and processed foods.

Please don't do this. That is so bad for your body and hurts your metabolism more in the long run. Start eating healthier and maybe meal substitute with casein (if your not allergic). It's 120 calories and 25g of protein which helps keep you full longer.

Eat right and work out with weights. Please don't "fast". What you are wanting to do is starving yourself. I fast for religious purposes on occasion and even then you break the fast and and have food in the 24 hour period.

No offense, but ballerinas aren't always known for having the best relationships with food (a stereotype that she is proving with that comment)

Beans consistent with what you're putting into your body. Get enough water, watch your sodium levels. Reduce the empty carbs in your diet. Don't drink your calories. Prepare food ahead of time so that you make good decisions.

What caused you to gain the weight initially (mostly a rhetorical question) look for ways you can learn from that. (Eta: that comment about ballerinas sounded really snotty so I want to clarify. I was a dancer, not professional by any means... but I remember my relationship with my body and how dysmorphic I was. I definitely did not have a healthy relationship with food or nutrition)

Have you spoken to a doctor? I tried a diet similar to this one, only it was actually an eating disorder, and I ended up in the hospital with ulcers. So please don't do this. Eat food. Go to a doctor if you want to get recommendations for a healthy weight loss program.
