Hello. I am currently starting a fasting diet where I only drink coffee and lots of water for two days. I can have some protein if needed, but the goal is to shrink my stomach. Hello. I am currently starting a fasting diet where I only drink coffee and lots of water for two days. I can have some protein if needed, but the goal is to shrink my stomach. When I purchased my wedding dress, I weighed 128 lbs. The zipper wouldn't zip at the very top (near upper back and bust area), and I just needed to lose 5 lbs and do some arm workouts then. I am 5'2" and now weight 158 lbs. I need to lose 35 pounds and a friend of mine said this works. She a ballerina and says whenever she needs to lose 10 lbs fast, she drinks nothing but coffee and water for a whole day. Except Im just going to have a little bit of protein as well and am going to do this for 2 days. After the two days I am going to start a low carb diet with some light exercise routines, and running. Has anyone done this and if so does it work really good? thanks

I low carb but you have to make sure you still get plenty of healthy food. I typically eat hard boiled egg in the morning, cheese and turkey for lunch (no bread) and dinner is a salad with kale, spinach, lettuce, chicken and a low carb dressing. No processed sugary foods or drinks. I drink at least 120oz of water every day and exercise at least an hour 5 days a week. Don't go without food. From a recovered anorexic, it starts a very unhealthy relationship with food. You can do it without being unhealthy. I promise! And you lose the bloated belly when you low carb. Good luck!

I didn't read all the comments but the faster you lose the weight, the faster it will come back. I learned this very hard way after trying out like 10 different shortcuts!

This is a horrible idea. When you start eating again your body is going to cling to everything since you deprived it and you'll end up gaining weight. So. Yea. No.

I agree with everyone here... I'm not sure if you're serious but when you force your body to only depend on water and caffeine for more than a few hours, I promise you will find out where your colon is... That is one of the most unhealthy things I've ever heard and I'm not sure why your friend recommended that to you. Not only will you probably bleed from where you don't want to be bleeding but you will also GAIN weight as soon as you allow your body to feed on solid food again... Terrible idea, I hope you're not serious.

My FH who is a nutritional professional would probably say this is incredibly harmful and counterintuitive.

Eat healthier foods: such as fruits, veggies, greens, etc. Dont deny yourself your basic nutrients that you need to survive.

Drink water (no sugary drinks- or coffee creamer from the store) and no added sugars.

If you do that, the 5lbs would drop a lot faster and healthier.

Do you know what happens when you starve yourself? Your body holds on to everything it can. So fasting sort term does the opposite of what you want.

Do the low carb diet and add 30 minute exercise 5 days a week and you will be much much happier.

Don't do it. At least fasting never worked for me.

I gained 30 pounds in my first few months of college (ugh... double freshman 15 for me). I tried fasting for 3 days but it didn't do anything. You will feel awful and eat a ton after 3 days.

    Eat less. Don't eat nothing.

Try cutting carbs not food. I am on a low carb kick with my FH, first few days ducked but now we are good and we are still getting the healthy number of calories in.

Lol, @Jacks, I was just thinking this sounds like a dancers diet!

Yeah, don't do this! This can trigger a cycle of unhealthy eating that can last for years. If you want to lose weight, change your entire eating lifestyle.

You have plenty of time before your wedding. Try focusing on things that will improve your metabolism. Drink a lot of water, eat protein at every meal, lift weights. Good luck!

This is just going to make you gain twice the weight back when you start eating again. Please don't do this. Take it from someone who knows. It is unhealthy. I have so many metabolism issues to this day and I have been fully recovered from Anorexia for 5 years.

You are going to dehydrate yourself doing this. And you will likely have an electrolyte imbalance because your body will have no sodium or other vitamins essential for bodily functions like cellular respiration and liver metabolism. Please eat fruit and veggies and lean proteins. Do some moderate cardio and kalisthenics 2-3 times a week and you will shred the weight. You do not have to deprive yourself of ANYTHING. I still drink wine, I still eat pizza, but I overpower that with healthy fruits and veggies and still manage to lose weight. Don't send yourself into an electrolytic grand meal seizure because of some horrible excuse for a "diet."

That is so incredibly bad for you. You will send your body into starvation mode and actually store more fat.

Very unhealthy and dangerous. Could cause longterm health problems.

Of you want to do diet to shrink your stomach..go all liquid PROTEIN. I use premier protein shakes. 160 cals no sugar no carbs and 30 grams of protein. You MUST consume 80 grams of protein a day... I did this for 3 months and the only solid food I ate was Greek yogurt.. I lost 93 lbs in 6 months. All fasting diets will take you at least 2 weeks to start loosing weight anyway cause your body goes into panic mode and stores all of your fat because it doesn't know when you will get food again .

Doing a coffee only diet could actually make you gain weight from the stress it puts on your body .

Be careful. I hope this helps. And I do hope you listen to my post because what I am saying is 100%true and if you aren't careful certain diets can be life threatening.

    Good luck!

I have a coworker who had been on a low carb diet for months and it has worked really well. He has lost a lot of weight. 5 lbs isn't much it's probably more toning than anything else.

Why not try a juice fast instead- that way you will still get the nutrients and won't pass out on your wedding day. If you do this coffe diet it could end up making you much more bloated and swelled up on the big day

God- Juice fasting is almost as bad.

    Skip PASS PASS PASS

Juicing is expensive- high in calories and sugar and a waste of good fiber. Just eat the fruit if you want fruit.
