Father Daughter Dance Song?

Is there a song that was a thing with your father when you were young? That's what we're dancing to. Not a typical "father/daughter dance" song (mainly because those are too mushy for me) but its a song by one of his favorite musicians, that we used to dance around the kitchen to when I was a kid.

My mother in law has chosen a similar song - from her favorite musician that she used to play a lot when my fiancé was little. Her choice certainly veers towards a love song, and the one with my dad doesn't exactly run away from that either. I wouldn't read too much into the lyrics and what people will think.

I mean unless you're choice is BuckCherry's "Crazy B--ch" I don't think many will be paying attention to the lyrics... 😉

I used “First Man” by Camila Cabello (it’s about her relationship with her dad).

So I was going to say "Dance with My Daughter " by Jason Blaine until the last part where you said you didn't want country. I've always loved "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart.

My Father is a musician that played drums and guitar (acoustic and electric) my entire life so I chose a really nice (slow) cover version of “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns n Roses which was perfect.
