Father of the bride gift, HELP!

Emily, on July 2, 2017 at 9:35 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Ok, so I nearly lost my dad four years ago. My brother and I preformed CPR, got him back, the whole 9 yards. So, I know how lucky I am to have him here for my wedding day. I want to make his father of the bride gift something super special. He is a bit of a firearm enthusiast, so I am planning on buying him a pistol and having it engraved. BUT, whatever quote or saying I put on it has to be pretty brief, and I am having trouble coming up with something. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had "My dad, My Hero, my rock" engraved on a picture frame for my dad for Christmas one year. Simple, but gets the meaning across

If you buy a glock you can replace the slide plate with a saying. It actually looks amazing. My FH has scripture in his but you can customize one as well. How about "When I'm at my best, I'm my father's daughter." They have a ton of short simple sayings if you google it. I attached a photo of an example!

I didn't know that about glocks! I know Smith and Wesson does engraving but I can find very little information on it. I was going to use an engraving place that specializes in firearms but I will have to keep that in mind

Smith and Wesson does engraving on the slides of their firearms but I've never heard of them engraving a custom saying! I think your best bet would be to take it to the place you mentioned! Or switch the plate on a glock like I mentioned!

FuturemrsS thank you so much! Saves me from having to figure all that out. We just shoot them in our house, we don't make them fancy!

Love the idea! what you engrave is really personal to you and him, you could use a bible verse to keep it short or just something simple "my father, my hero" along those lines
