So my Dad is going to be our officiant. He's a chaplain for our local county sheriffs department. I am so excited!

There is only one catch...I have NO idea how to pull this off!

Because he is my daddy he of course wants to walk me down the aisle, which I also really want. We aren't doing the giving away portion so that makes it a LITTLE easier, but there's still the question of how to PHYSICALLY transition him from walking me down the aisle to standing as officiant. Any suggestions? Have any of you done this/planning to do this? How did/will you do it?

My dad is a preacher and he is doing the ceremony as well. He is going to have another minister do the start of ceremony and he will change places with him after he walks me down the aisle.

He could just walk you down the aisle, physically put your hand in your FH's, then step into place.
I've never been to a wedding where the officient says something before the bride gets down the aisle.

Could you maybe practice one day as a friend or family member watch / film you try a few different options. The only way you are going to know is by giving it a try.

I don't have advice about this personally, but I saw someone's BAM today and her dad was her officiant. It all looked really sweet! Maybe get in touch with her and ask? This was her BAM :

This is so sweet and I love it! Not sure about suggestions. Honestly I’d just have him walk you and then step into place while the music is playing. I don’t remember officiants saying anything prior anyways.
