My father and I have a great, but not normal relationship. We are definitely way more likely to sit back and have a beer than anything else, and have never been super close in terms of serious conversations or anything. I feel like most father/daughter dance songs I've considered are good, but don't fully resonate with me. However, In the City by Joe Walsh is a song that brings both of us back and has a lot of meaning. My issue is it's not really a father/daughter dance song at all and is sort of depressing when you really think about the lyrics. I am just asking for some outside opinions on the matter. I know it is supposed to be a moment for us to share and we shouldn't care much about anyone else, but at the same time I don't want a large portion of my wedding guests (like my fiancé's family that just wouldn't understand) looking around and whispering to each other "Why the heck are they dancing to that."
Thanks in advance
