Favor boxes too big... What to do?!

Kimberly1022, on January 4, 2015 at 10:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I am making favor boxes and putting Jordan almonds wrapped in tulle in them. I got gift tags made with a poem for the almonds, in the Italian tradition, and you're supposed to put 5 almonds in the box. I made a box and it seems to be too big, even with 10 almonds instead of 5. I got a suggestion to use white Easter grass-type material to make it look more full or to use Hershey kisses to fill the box. My fiancé thinks using the kisses is a bad idea and will take away from the almonds and what they represent. I don't know where to find the white filler grass or something like it, so we're stuck. I already put together 100 boxes so I have to use them. I need some help!!!

What about white cotton (not cotton balls though) or crinkle cut stuffer?

Dollar store. They'll have bags of white and colored shreds; you'll probably get about 5 boxes to a bag. problem solved!

Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, Michaels all have what you are talking about in multiple colors. Even Wal-Mart, CVS and Walgreens have it with their birthday wrap and bows.

You could use some bunched up tissue paper to fill it up. Or there's always amazon:

Buy fillers. There so with craft paper, silver, gold, multi color. They are like stringy stripes, kind of like the ones you find in easter baskets. They sell them at Michaels, and usually dollar stores.

I was searching "Easter basket filler" but I was calling it the wrong thing when I was searching the Michael's website.. Once I found out what it was I found it everywhere! I even found custom colored kinds on Etsy! I may even get it from there!

The Dollar Tree has bags of that paper filler stuff by their wrapping section. They have multiple colors, too, so you can match your colors if you want. I think that paper filling is your best bet.

You could also just run some plain white paper through a shredder. It will be crinkly and good for use as a filler.

I don't have a shredder, otherwise that would be a great idea. I decided to get it from etsy since it was custom colors so I could match it to my wedding colors! And it was inexpensive.. Saved me from having to go to a bunch of different stores lol
