Favor sticker/label help

Ms. Boop, on March 24, 2011 at 6:22 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Ok I have purchased red wine glasses and champagne flutes for each place setting. I want to buy clear labels/stickers with our names and wedding date on them to adhere to the flutes. This sounded very simple to me BUT wouldn't you know I can NOT find clear reasonable labels. Does anyone know of a site or idea. All that I keep finding are standard address labels.

Hey Ms. Boop, where have you been, haven't discussed RHWOA or Basketball Wives in so longSmiley smile

Have you looked into stencils, or are adhesives a must?

If you can't find labels. Our website had loads of stickers that can be personalized. http://www.athankyoufavor.weddingstar.com/diy-wedding-favors/wedding-favor-stickers/view-all

I wouldn't use stickers on glass...they will come right off unless you are packaging them in something and adhering the stickers to that. You could paint the glass using a stencil, or use etching liquid...but stickers would look strange IMO.

Myweddinglabels.com have some really cute labels. If it is glass, I would agree with Analy.

Staples has various sizes of Clear labels(Avery). You could print them out yourself in any color or font you want. I just did all of the labels for my invites. I bought larger than normal so that I could do a nice calligraphy font. Avery.com offers a template compatible with Microsoft Word.

I agree with Analy though, they may come off with washing.

If you are putting them on flutes/wine glasses the stickers won't stay long due to the change in temperature from liquids. Also liquid will tend to get spilled down the side. They do work well for candles as the heat tends to meld the adhesive to the glass. I would go with the paint suggestion.

If you are very crafty and want to take the time you can purchase what is called armour etch at a craft store. A small bottle will run you about $10. They also have stencils at those stores. This will permanently etch the glasses for you.

What about tags, instead of sticking anything to glass? You can tie them around the base with a cute bow.

If you still cant find clear stickers you always have the option of etching or just purchase a custom tag like the below to tie on each glass. Those tags came from susan (the link above)

I use stickers to attach my name on the bottom of each glass, but you have to put some sort of waterproof sealant on them if you want it to stay. I use E-6000 glue. Not sure it would look right on the sides of the glass though.

Ok, thanks WW about the warnings about glass and stickers. This lady at Ross had clear stickers that looked like engraving they were really cute...but not sure if they were "special". SO MAD I didn't ask her because now I want to use her idea. :-(

Haven't seen Miami yet, I heard it was pretty good. Love and Hip Hop, good lawd, I don't know how to feel about that one yet, lol. I thought the SAME thing about Tammy; if she didn't have that cigarette in her hand she likely would have. I'm telling you these shows get more and more interesting

Hope you find what your looking forSmiley smile
