Hi everyone, What are the best bridesmaid's gifts you've personally received or what would you LIKE to receive if you were a bridesmaid? What would you just love? What would you just toss to the side? I know we all have awesome ideas of what to give our girls, but has anyone ever been a part of a WP...

Hi everyone,

What are the best bridesmaid's gifts you've personally received or what would you LIKE to receive if you were a bridesmaid? What would you just love? What would you just toss to the side?

I know we all have awesome ideas of what to give our girls, but has anyone ever been a part of a WP and received something awesome - or not so awesome?

Let us know - and post links/stores if you have them!

Thanks!

-Amy

I was in a wedding last month for my SIL as the MOH. I got nothing. Though my MIL did pay for my hair the day of and dress (which I was more then willing to pay for). My DH also did not receive a gift, even though he was an usher, MC and DJ.

I got my girls for the wedding

-Swarkowski earrings, which they can wear again.

-Some Bath and Body Works bath gels and lotions, which my MOH says she uses all the time travelling

    - A couple other smaller items that suite each girls personality.

-Also paid for their hair and makeup for day of. My mom was nice enough to pay for their manis and pedis the day before.

I paid for my bridesmaids dresses. But I wanted to get them something to actually give at the rehearsal. So I got those personalized dress hangers. They are adorable, make for cute decorations for their rooms or something, plus they'll make for super cute wedding day pictures of all of the dresses. Smiley smile

I have never been a bridesmaid in a wedding but I do know I would not want my gift to only be wedding related unless I got something else with it.. I bought my girls coach wristlets and my moh a coach wallet/ clutch.. I know they will all love it, they love coach.. I am also making them wedding hangers with their name and a bridal party tanks for day of.. The shirts and hanger are more for pics but that's why I got them coach and I'm thinking about paying for their makeup.

Those of you who have already gotten your gifts, do you have pics of any of the items? These all sound like great ideas Smiley smile

Honestly, I would love a "spa day" like manicures and pedicures. I think something like that is fun and a good group activity. Like the wine/paint classes Smiley smile

I got pearl earrings once and obviously wear them all the time, but I have a gazilllion pairs.

My favorite BM gift of all time was the Tiffany necklace that I got in my FSIL's wedding. I wear it all the time. She was able to get a really good deal on it though I'd have to ask how much.

I've gotten my bridesmaids pashmina scarves with their name engraved on them.. The scarves were also in their favorite color and they loved it..

The past two weddings I've been in as a BM were slippers with my initials and another one I got gray colored flip flops so I was okay I guess.. But I would of love the scarf I gave my girls as a gift..

I got my girls the following : tote bag with name embroidered in fave colors. Makeup bag with all the bridesmaid stuff in it like Kleenex tums Advil candy gum nail file lint brush etc Paul Mitchell shampoo conditioner hair spray set. Engraved photo frames that say today my bridesmaid always my sister/friend with name and date. Insulated cup with straw. Flip flops that I put rhinestones on. Jewelry for the day. Some got wine. Then I gave them all a gift card to their favorite store maid and matron got 50.00 bm got 25.00. Hangers from etsy with name on it. I think that's all but I've been buying for a year so I may have forgotten stuff. The guys we got watches and beer mugs that are etched with names. Plus a bottle opener and a bottle of their favorite "good" beer.

My brides sometime buy nice wristlets or jewelry that the bridesmaids can wear on the day of the wedding and after the wedding.

Haven't been in a wedding in forever but a jewelry box was a nice item. The last one they were broke and pregnant so got nothing.

I love the idea of the coach wrislet and will have to look into that. I have also purchased all of their jewelry for the wedding, earrings, necklace, tennis bracket and ring. Classic (sapphire and CZ) enough to be worn again if they choose.

For those of you that are thinking Coach - do you know about the online factory store?

So looking through all the responses, I see tons of things that I wouldn't like -- no Coach or any other designer thing, no jewelry or jewelry boxes, no wine...

So really, I'd say the best bridesmaids gifts are those that reflect each girl best. Rather than a uniform gift all around, something that's more suited to them specifically -- whether that be a first edition of their favorite book, or jewelry, or a promise to go paintballing with them.

Some of you ladies are sure pulling out the big guns/bucks for your WP! They are lucky lucky!!! So nice.

Reenski I love the idea of items personalized to each girl, or similar items, but favorite colors - not wedding colors like a lot of you have done.

When my best friend got married, she gave us the jewelry that she wanted us to wear. I loved it, because it was one less thing that I had to pay for and it was super cute. I still wear the earrings all the time and her wedding was five years ago!

I've been lucky enough to only be a bridesmaid once. It was for my brother's wedding and my sister-in-law got us the following...

    1) Our wedding day jewelry and peacock hair pin - I'll never wear it again

    2) Old Navy flip flops for the reception - Always nice to have another pair of flip flops

    3) Dog peeing on a fire hydrant S&P shaker from Pier 1 - She works there and gets a discount so for some reason decided S&P shakers were a good bridesmaid gift. I totally love mine since I got to pick it out (I happened to be with her when she went to buy them). It's a freaking dog peeing on a fire hydrant. Even my DH loves it.

    4) A Vera Bradley wallet/clutch thing. Vera Bradley isn't really my thing and I have a different wallet I use, however I use this to hold all my feminine products in my purse. So it still gets used.

Embroidered slippers is a cute idea!! something different for sure and not something people would normally buy for themselves.

I got my girls monogrammed zip up hoodies. They loved them. They all keep saying how it's their favorite comfy jacket! And a monogrammed tumbler Smiley smile

Comfortable flip flops or slippers for after the wedding and a "survival kit" with items they just might need.

Wow, some of these are a little overboard...

I've gotten my bridesmaids monogrammed totes with their initials. I am going to put something inside the totes (thinking wine and a sweet card, maybe a wine glass as well).

I will be paying for their hair the day of the wedding

They will be treated to brunch at my favorite fancy restaurant the morning of the wedding.
