Favorite cake flavor/filling?

We go for one this Saturday. So excited!!!

We ended up with snickerdoodle cake with cream cheese & butter icing. It was amazing! Many guests actually took 2 pieces and we had none leftover (which makes me sad. We wanted leftover cake because it was that good!)

Oh man, it was! You've got a lot of good options there. I think cake tasting was our favorite part of wedding planning!

We haven't decided on the cake flavor but have determined the filling only because our family is Italian.. We will be doing the cannoli filling

We are having a white cake with raspberry mousse! I never would have thought I'd pick that but it was so delicious.

Our baker has a summertime specialty, raspberry lemonade. It's the first thing of her's we ever tasted and knew she was our baker from that point on. Our other tiers were chocolate with peanut butter and (my favorite) spice with cream cheese.

When we did our tasting, we went were able to choose 4 cakes and 5 fillings and take them home in a little go box. It was SO much fun. We took it to my parents house, made coffee and turned it into an event.

We tasted chocolate, french vanilla, yellow and rum cakes. For fillings, we had vanilla, chocolate and espresso buttercreams, ganache, and a raspberry fruit filling.

We tasted everything individually, then each cake with each filling, then mixed things up.

My favorite was the dark chocolate cake with the rum cake and the espresso filling. TO DIE FOR! That's our top layer just for us. FH is going to be lucky to get more than a bite.

Then for our guests, we are doing the dark chocolate marbled with the french vanilla and espresso buttercream, and the rum cake with the vanilla buttercream.

I'm hoping for lots and lots of leftovers.

Oh anything raspberry or mocha! We are doing a DW and the resort is providing our cake. This is the one area I feel like I'm missing out on. Have some cake for me!

We're coffee fans so we had to go with a layer of chocolate cake and coffee icing in between the top and bottom layer (both vanilla cake with vanilla icing). Our lady is so awesome, that the simple flavors were perfect and I didn't need to attempt anything else. A lot of people love Almond, which was good, but didn't steal my heart.

Sounds yummy! The traditional white vanilla almond cake is actually my favorite, we are having two tiers of that and one tier of chocolate with strawberry filling throughout.

I would definitely want to try that Kahlua filling! Or the white chocolate mousse!

We're doing pretty plain flavors- chocolate with chocolate ganache, vanilla with vanilla buttercream and a vanilla cake with key-lime filling.

We're doing several tiers and a grooms cake.

Tier 1 - Red Velvet and cream cheese filling.

Tier 2 - Apple Spice cake with caramel cream filling

Tier 3 - Lemon cake with blueberry coulis and lemon curd Bavarian filling layer and vanilla buttercream.

Anniversary Tier - Carrot Cake with walnuts.

Grooms Cake - Pumpkin Spice with pumpkin cream filling.

Our appointment was great because my mom, fils, FSIL, one of my bridesmaids, FH, and I all went. It was very helpful having a larger group of people help pick. I highly recommend bringing a group if possible.

Anything with rum in its gonna be good! we are doing red velvet with cream cheese filling on the bottom tier and plain vanilla/vanilla on the top tier. Borrring....

Our cake is two tiers white chocolate with buttercream filling, and one tier strawberry with cream cheese filling. I was pulling for a cinnamon tier but got outvoted, haha.

I originally thought we'd want more chocolate, but it was SO RICH, we all agreed it was too much.

TRL I am dying at the idea of spice cake with caramel filling and the pumpkin spice cake.

We are at least trying one simple (yellow and chocolate with chocolate custard filling) and one fun (spice cake with kahlua buttercream filling) option. But, you guys are giving me a lot more ideas we probably need to try too. nom nom nom

We are having two - white cake with white chocolate and fresh raspberries and then chocolate chip cake with Irish cream filling. Doing 3 tiers so 2 will be chocolate chip.

I'm not a huge cake person, but I love light, fluffy vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting and fresh strawberries in the middle. Like a strawberry shortcake!

I will say though, we'll made, professional cakes are amazing. I am looking forward to that tasting :-)

Tier 1 - White cake with fresh strawberry filling and cream cheese frosting

Tier 2 - Chocolate cake with fudge filling and chocolate frosting

Tier 3 - Either cheesecake or red velvet, undecided for now
