Favorite part of wedding planning?

Kristen, on December 28, 2020 at 7:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 33

Okay yes wedding planning is super stressful but there are some parts I do miss. My favorite part of wedding planning was the cake tasting and the trial. While I am happy to be married and glad the stress is over there are some parts I do miss about planning a wedding. Any part of wedding planning you like if you are planning or miss if you got married?

I miss working with my florist! My favorite day was having my groom and our moms meet with the florist and enjoy lunch afterwards ❤️

PS- your wedding pics are beautiful Kristen!!!

There are quite a few parts that I've especially enjoyed during wedding planning, but I think my absolute favorites have been: taking our engagement photos, touring the venues, food/cake tastings, and just talking about the smaller/fun details with my fiance (funny signs to display, planning the whiskey unity ceremony, etc).

I'm getting my lights and florals from the same company and talking to them has been my absolute favorite part. We were bouncing off of each other's energy and she was right on the same page as me, loving my ideas, throwing in some of her own. It was the first time I felt my wedding coming to life. Other than that, our tasting was amazing. Besides all of the food being absolutely delicious, it was FHs moment where he finally felt like this was really happening and you could see it on his face. Once you get through the stresses, there really are a lot of great, fun moments in planning.

Awwwww that sounds like a fun time. Great vendors make a huge different. Awwwww thanks so much. My photographers are awesome. Side note I want my make up artist to teach me how to apply make up...I need those skills for everyday life ha ha. Your pics look lovely as well and you looked beautiful on your special day.

We never did engagement pics and I kind of wish we did even though we had a small ceremony. Venue touring got stressful but I did love lookin at venues online and wedding inspo. Cake tasting was fun because we did it at home and we were both on the same page about the flavor we wanted.

That is awesome. We here horror stories of bad vendors so having a good relationship with your vendors is super important and a great feeling. You're right...I had some down moments but overall the planning process was good for the most part.

We've had a few things we've enjoyed so far! Venue touring was really stressful because my FH is VERY picky with that kind of thing, but when we did find our venue and did 2 food tastings...it just made us so much more excited to have our wedding there because the food is DELICIOUS. We also just got our engagement photos done in early December and we had a blast, so that made me really excited to work with our photographer because she was a lot of fun. I've also personally enjoyed finding little pieces that will add in our personality in the decor, like the Mr. and Mrs. sign we got that has Mickey heads in the openings of the Rs (I LOVE Disney). There's a lot that has been fun!

That's awesome that you did the cake tastings at home! A lot less pressure. And there's still time to do the photos - you could always do a photo shoot on your first anniversary!

It might be weird but I LOVE the challenge of the whole thing! Making it all come together! My fiancé is a firefighter/medic & is extremely busy both on & off his shift which leaves me doing the most of the planning. I researched/scheduled venue tours but he came with. He trusts my judgment & knows I have an eye for these things. I give him the options & we decide what we want. We have cake tastings, flowers & rehearsal dinner options happening next month!

No that does not sound weird. I am honestly happy and impressed I put together what we did on my own without a planner. Definitely feel even with a bigger wedding I could have and the research was kind of fun too. Oooooh keep us posted on the cake tasting.

My favorite part was the dress shopping. When I eloped 23 years I don’t get to choose anything. Zero. I feel fortunate to start shopping before the lockdown begin. I was able to go to 3 boutiques, and tried 17 dresses in total. It was challenging due to my figure, but it was the happiest of my wedding planning moment love 💕

Oh, I loved dress shopping. A week after we got engaged, Kleinfeld had a pop up sample sale, so three of my friends came with me into the wilds of Jersey.

We made friends with the sales lady, and the four of them basically treated me like a life-sized Barbie.

    ...And we found my dress.

First ONE friend started to cry, and then we domino'd, until *I* was sobbing onto a friend's shoulder, and she was essentially playing therapist.

It was an emotional day, and I'd been engaged a WEEK.

But even getting my dress altered was fun.

The other super fun part was rehearsing the swordfight for the reception. I couldn't find a way to work, plan a wedding AND do theatre, without sacrificing my health, so the swordfight was my theatre outlet. (...I thought I'd do so much theatre in 2020. *sigh*.)
