Favors for a Brewery Wedding...

Archer_Bride2be, on May 7, 2013 at 12:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Lately Ive been kind of stuck on wedding planning since I have the location/theme/photog/food/wedding party all set, but it's to early to book smaller things. So my brain started to think about favors....I want something people might actually use, but FH doesnt want anything "cliche". Since our wedding/reception is going to be upstairs at a popular bar/brewery I thought maybe we could do a beer bread mix bottled in beer bottles. We could save bottles from a local bar that we know the owner of, peel off the labels, and we would just pay the bar the deposit for the bottles. We could then recap the bottles with cute colors (u can get like 100 for $5.00). Oh and we have the ability to make our own labels for free.

If you were a guest would you like it and/or use it? all you have to do is add beer and bake...here is a picture of how I'd like to do the display

I think this is an excellent idea! I would love it if I were a guest and totally make the bread and save the bottle.

    Nice display too!

Yay! I wasn't sure if it came off tacky at all or not....plus this is the first favor idea that FH has actually liked too

It's a cute idea but don't forget about properly sanitizing the bottles and getting the old labels off. I have a few friends who brew and FH does too and that takes a bit of time and work to do properly. Also don't forget about the tool needed to actually cap the bottles (unless those are screw tops??)

That would be an awesome favor! my only question, could you purchase an equal amount of beers from brewery? reason i ask, my grandparents love beer bread, but don't drink. so, some people would have to buy a whole 6 pack, just to make bread(i say that, BC none of my friends buy single beers lol. it's a little ghetto to us, hahaha!)...

Love it! I would definitely use it too! Goes great with your theme and much more original than a bottle opener or beer pint or mug.

Will you include a recipe to make again as well?

Shannon, I actually found a "home brew" forum I was looking around to see how they clean them and remove labels so that is actually very helpful! and yea there is that little capper tool thing, it's only about $15 on ebay so I don't think thats too bad

I also think this idea is kind of funny for my family because my cousin is getting married in a few months and is a huge wine fan, and having alot of her wedding stuff be wine related (i think she is giving out little bottles of wine as favors). So she has the wine wedding and I have the beer wedding lol!

I love the idea. And how can you have the reception in a brewery and not give a beer related favor? I love the display too...one for the road!
