Favors - Necessary or Not?

Totally not necessary. So many ppl leave them behind or throw them straight into the trash. Unless you're spending a ton of money on something super cool like a bottle of champagne, then don't do it. People don't want mints!

I don't know how I feel about it. I am doing them because I want something for my guests to remember the day by. So I opted for something useful for the guests.

Not neccessary. I think we are doing the personalized cups so they can be reused...... but cups are an expense we are already accounting for!

Since my fiance and I love to cook together, we had the idea to give little jars of infused olive oil with a little note that says something like...since being in the kitchen together is a big part of our relationship we hope you use this and have some fun (I haven't figured out the wording just yet lol)

I wouldn't say favors are necessary but its thoughtful. To keep from spending extra money, our dessert table was going to double up as our favors for everyone.

Favors are a nice memento. I'm giving them out.

I feel like this is a waste of money. I have attended many weddings, and half the time I have never used a single wedding favor that we have gotten. Plus half the time people don't even take them. Not an expense I budgeted for either.

This is a very big expense so we just decided to do a candy buffet instead of individual favors for our guests.

Not necessary. We’re not doing favors. It’s an added expense that usually ends up getting left behind.

Nope. We are skipping it. I don't like taking them home and it's one more expense we could eliminate.

Unnecessary. We're going to have cake, food, a s'mores buffet, a hot chocolate bar, and candy scattered about the tables. No need to give everyone more "stuff" than that. When we first started planning we had this cute idea to make soap, because FH makes artisanal soap. We were going to do them with half rose and half charcoal, to reflect our two different personalities. Then I saw a whole Reddit thread on the worse wedding favors and soap was at the top of the list! LOL! I almost died from laughing!

Not necessary! Most people leave them behind so it is wasted money. I'd rather save the money and just enjoy everyone's company.

Our favors are costing us about 80 bucks for 110 people. We upcycled wine bottles into cups, and are using wine corks with a custom branding and magnet on it.
I feel if your able to do something somewhat inexpensive to say thanks you, it is appreciated. Especially if it is something that will be used or eaten.
