Favors - Need to Have or Nice to Have?

Wedding favors are a fun way to incorporate your theme and to thank your guests for coming, but are they really a favorite for your guests? What do you think about wedding favors? Are they still a 'need to have' or just a 'nice to have'? Photo from Ad Astra Events in Nashville, TN Next Question:...

It's nice to have. For us it was a need. I've been to weddings that didn't have them and certainly didn't feel disappointed. And I've been to some that had them where it felt like something I'd never use. My favorite was a bag of treats to take home for our dogs lol. We plan to do favors but haven't decided what...

As a guest I wouldn't care for wedding favors to much if they didn't have it, they're nice to have. I was thinking of a dessert/candy buffet since my date would be late October. Maybe some donuts and provide those little donut paper covers with a cute wedding saying to take with them.

Wedding favors will be in the goodie bags. We want our guest to have a little something to remember our special day by.

Nice to have, not needed but a cute way to tie the couple together. They do usually end up tossed or left

I can't decide! I feel like it's a nice way to thank guests for coming, but we are also providing them with a nice dinner and open bar. And from personal experience, every wedding i've gone to, i've forgotten the favor at the venue..

Would people really get mad if there weren't favors?

Nice to have for sure. I am on the fence about favors also. The only favors I've seen that go over really well was anything edible and customized glasses that we used during the reception.

My fiance and I are doing a favor/dessert table so they can pick their own favors. Smiley smile

Nice to have. I wasn't sure about doing favors but my mom decided to get some because they were such a good deal, they don't really fit our theme but that's ok.

Nice to have, but I don’t think it should be necessary to provide favors. My fiancé and I are doing a “in lieu of” idea where we will have a sign letting guests know that instead of receiving a favor, we will have made a donation in their name to a charity of our choice (thinking about splitting our total contribution between American Cancer Society and Alzheimer’s Association).

I'm of the mindset they're a need to have! I think it's a small way to show your gratitude for those that came to celebrate your special day with you. Edible items are always a good idea! We had small jars of homemade applesauce as our favors. We also had koozies (the bar had bottle beer, they didn't have anything on tap so we thought koozies would be fun).

At first I thought they were needed, but now I’m definitely thinking they’re only nice to have. They end up getting left or thrown out. We may make a donation to a charity that’s meaningful to us instead.

Nice to have, as apparently most get left behind anyway, so it's wasted money.

I can't lie that I usually throw away wedding favors because they are useless. My favors are food for that reason... they seem to hardly go to waste.

I guess it’s just a nice to have but we’re still doing one little favor.

Nice to have. Usually the guests are being served an expensive meal.
