We’re stuck between cutting the list to 30-50 or moving the date which we are very against doing. We live in a northern state so outside wedding is not really a possibility. Anyone else in a similar boat?

Same Same Same! Thank you for feeling stressed, because I feel so stressed too! February 2021 bride, work in healthcare, northern (anticipating all the snow) state. The current recommendations from the county health department where we want to hold the wedding is restricting gatherings to 25people. That number would really force us to not have some family! Virtual, reschedule, wait it out.....all options feel so frustrating. We are against postponing as well, dang it I want to marry this man! At this point I have a contingency plan outlining safety precautions for our (hopefully) 50person wedding and we're just going to pray it's approved.

My wedding date is 2/28/21 in southwest Florida. We are not under any restrictions as far as indoors/ outdoors, unless our local government changes something. My fiancé's family and friends are mainly in New Jersey and we're already getting fallout due to restrictions up there. Our officiant (also my fiancé's best friend) just called and said he's not allowed to cross state lines unless he wants to quarantine for 14 days upon return. He can't afford to do that, so as of right now, he isn't coming. My sister has very graciously stepped up and in addition to being my maid of honor, she got ordained online, in case our original officiant can't make it. Our ring bearer has also been replaced, since the parents don't want to risk bringing their kiddo down here. I completely understand...not complaining on that one. In both circumstances, we've figured things out. I'm just sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next. I'm almost afraid to continue planning, as if the issues will keep piling on. Our venue will not allow us to move our date unless they're mandated to shut down, and we can't afford to cancel and try again later. We've already spent too much. My stress level is at its max, and I really hate that all of us "pandemic brides" have to go through this.

What part of SW FL? I'm 2/21/21 in Naples! Agreed about the stress level! It's so hard to even get excited or continue planning when you have no idea what the next day will bring!! Hopefully FL will remain open and least restricted, but I get it that family from up north (Boston) will have a hard time getting there! : (

So pretty!! We will be at the Hyatt. Just outside of Naples. We are actually from Texas but my parents live in Naples so it's a semi-destination wedding for us!

Fingers crossed that we will both have the best weddings! : )

I live in CA and my wedding is in Feb. 14, 2021, at this point, I'm pinning all my hopes on the vaccine to take control of the craziness that's happening here.

I am so sorry that the planning has been stressful. Make sure to take some time for yourself (when you can) to step away from planning and relax. I know that is much harder than it sounds though.

Our original wedding was going to be about 100 people, but by October, we decided it was best to scale down ahead of the second wave of COVID and to just be safer in general. It was a difficult decision and one that I shed a few tears over, but it will be ok. We ended up having to get a smaller venue for our 2/13/21 date) and we are now just having our immediate families attend. In speaking to our venue today, we were told our totals are capped at 14. We currently have about 10 guests (our parents and my fiancé's step parents and siblings).

    Hello Everyone!

Due to the pandemic we are in right now, we have decided to cut our headcount for our wedding from 100 to 50. It was so heartbreaking not including A LOT of key people in our lives but with COVID on the rise, we didn't want to risk having that many people attend our wedding. I must say, going from planning a destination wedding in Costa Rica to having one in our home town of Atlanta has been very stressful. With the destination wedding pretty much everything was already arranged for us but since we are having the wedding here, there is so much detail that goes into coordinating a wedding. There are so many additional costs - wedding coordinator, design team, cake, find a venue + working around the restrictions they may have for vendors, PLUS trying to keep everything within a budget.. Phewwwwwwww. I am mentally exhausted and cannot WAIT until the big day is here. Thankfully, I found a Venue that is a 1 stop shop. Smiley heart

All in all, something I have had to force on myself, is that things will get done and it will be okay. Just breathe! I wish you all the best of luck in your wedding + all the planning that comes with it! #WECANDOTHIS

February 2021 wedding but not having a venue or reception hurts me, I’m older and this was supposed to be my big day! :/ COVID just won’t let it be so I’ve decided to just have the ceremony with our 3 kids my parents and his sister and brother-in-law if they want to come

Hi I’m Val the stress is real!! Wedding day is Feb 20th and honestly can’t wait for it to get here and be over with. I’ve cried and laughed and just realized that it’s more than ppl actually think it is to plan a wedding. Now even more stress has been adding because we may have to cut down on the amount of ppl attending. It’s a beautiful moment but I definitely can feel the stress when it comes to this. My fiancé is so laidback it doesn’t faze him at all. I’m the emotional reck lol.

Decided on having a small intimate wedding with just my close friends in Vegas. I've waited

11 years to get married and I am not going to postpone it. Already paid deposit on my venue for

my ceremony. Which is non refundable, Less than 25 guests so I think it should be ok.

Hi Jessa - I'm having a "micro" wedding in Boston. Unfortunately MA just put a restriction on dining limits (90 minute reservation blocks). Is that happening in NY/does it affect your venue?

Hi Elizabeth... where are you located? We're in Massachusetts and the new restrictions are ruining everything! I planned for 25 people thinking "what could go wrong" and now there are more dining restrictions. And this is just for a private dinner at a restaurant in Boston.

Ugh they just shut down indoor dining again here starting today until who knows when lol
We moved our wedding to the summer
It’s just too risky and everything is in lockdown here ( I’m in the 5 boroughs) so it’s just insane.I know the restrictions are hard. 90 minutes is hard Smiley sad

Miami, FL 2/13/21 — going forward with obvious concerns about health/safety. Sent all invites with obvious expectations many guests will have to make hard decisions not to come as destination for most. Thankfully we planned a fully outdoor venue, but agreed lots still to plan in 2 shorts months and hard to get motivated!
