Feedback on Covid Announcement

Chelsea, on January 26, 2021 at 3:26 PM Posted in Parties and Events 1 9

Hi everyone!

The Honey and I have decided that we will not be moving our wedding. We've already been engaged for two years, and figured we're just ready to start living life together. We are keeping an eye on the state guidelines (and I'm getting my vaccine tomorrow!), so we are hopeful that by June, we can still have a special day, even if it looks a little different.

I wanted some feedback on this announcement I created (ideas are NOT completely mine; compiled from various posts I've found online).

What are some other ways you've taken precautions? Masks on the dance floor? Let me know!

I think this wording is great! My only recommendaiton would be make a positive spin - highlight all the thoughtful, methodical, modifications you will be taking at the wedding! I am sure a lot of thought has gone into it (i.e. sanitary stations, handing out masks, spacing out tables, etc.). I think you're able to "brag" about all the ways you're making your wedding as safe as can be Smiley smile

I think this wording is great! The only suggestion I have is to add some information about what precautions you plan to take at your wedding for those who plan to attend in person (masks, hand sanitizer, fewer people per table, etc). I would also recommend creating an FAQ section on your wedding website for COVID related questions, and refer guests to your website for additional info in the announcement. I would maybe also add a line in the announcement that encourages guests to contact you or your fiance if they have any questions or concerns. Otherwise, it sounds great!

I think it is great! I like Lynne’s suggestion as well. I would add how guests will be provided the Zoom link (found on website, sent via email or indicate on your RSVP card your email). Guidelines can be posted on your website as well for those quick turnaround restrictions and to get the word out.

Precautions we followed besides the obvious masks, hand sanitizer, etc. was seating guests by household, no receiving line, plated dinner, individually wrapped favors, and wrapped silverware. Congratulations June bride ❤️❤️❤️

We already have an FAQ section! This is just the first post in our COVID-19 section. I'll be adding to it as we get closer to the date!

This is just the first post in our COVID-19 section on our wedding website, so I'll be adding more to it as our state updates its regulations.

I'll just be posting the Zoom link on that same page before the wedding! That way if someone RSVPs to attend "in person" and are exposed, I don't have to back-track and forward them a link, they can just access from there.

Thanks! I've been using Canva to make updates for the wedding website. It's free and SO cute!

You asked about other precautions aside from hand sanitizers, temperature checks, and table "bubble" groups, my daughter's wedding venue was outdoors and had people wearing masks while dancing (no "group" dances like Electric Slide, etc) and masks pretty much anywhere else except while sitting and eating/drinking, no bouquet/garter toss, servers at buffet, and no guest book. As much as it sounds restricted, it really didn't feel like it and everyone had a good time and were happy just to get out of the house and have something to get dressed up for.

I think it’s perfect! That’s awesome that you’re getting your vaccine! I’ve been fortunate enough to get mine as well, but I realize not everyone will have it come May, which is why we’re rescheduling.
