Feel like eloping

Anyone else so overwhelmed with planning a wedding and the cost involved? I'm exhausted by it all lately... wrecked car to boot.... and tons of subsequent arguments between us do to the stress. I just want a beautiful say and amazing memory not all of this stress.

Great to hear you've got the proper perspective and don't have the same stresses. Congratulations to you

This was me just last week! I was so over the wedding and we still have 5 months to go. I went this past weekend and got a dress for the reception so trying on different dresses and having my FH with me to get his opinion put me back in the wedding spirits. Take a step back and just relax I promise it will pass!

I’m having another “should we have just eloped” days... lol. Not even 24 hours after I posted “it will be all good, blah blah blah”. Aside from the insane costs that they charge for literally everything (we asked about a special napkin fold and it was $3-5 a napkin!) I’m also annoyed about the time that this thing is sucking up. So many hours!! It’s crazy and I’m trying to be chill but it’s just one of those days today!

I’m in the saaaaame boat girl! You are seen! *Gives a high five*

I’ve been looking at elopments like “That looks great!” Lol! However my family is very important to me so I’m not 100% sold on them. There are just so many other things my man and I really want to put our money towards and a big’ol wedding honestly isn’t one. Plus neither of our parents are Daddy Warbucks so asking for money has be awkward.

Sorry I guess I don’t have any real advice for you, but I’m just so relieved to see another Bride-to-Be with similar feeling. Make the priority about you and you partner, that’s the first thing my planner told me. My S.O.S post is on the horizon lol! Hang in there Queen!

Girl AMEN! I feel the same way every other day the only thing keeping me from eloping is because my dress is paid for (and it’s too expensive for my pockets for me not to wear and wear it longer than an hour ) Also selfishly I want gifts me and FH are moving in together fresh with nothin really between us . Lol we need all the help we can get . If it wasn’t for those two things I would wait until our 10 year and have a vow renewal ! Now that would be a real celebration lol

Yes. I think at a certain point we all feel that way. I was in that spot about a month ago, but now that we're 75 days out (!!!!), with all this FUN stuff left to do--parties and the fun bits of DIY and so on--it's getting better. I think my FH is still in that "I wish we'd just elpoped" spot, but I mean, that's kind of his typical head space anyway. Smiley tongue (We did decide to do a "normal wedding" and not elope together, though, and we both knew it would come down to where it is now.)

Ha I definitely get the feeling, I have a wave of stress wash over me from time to time due to various aspects (ie: site for wedding photos under constructions, random person just haaaas to be invited to wedding, lack of empathy from others etc) . I just feel like the whole thing has revealed a lot of ugly character traits from those that I love. My FH has been my rock though, he's all for the eloping idea but I think realistically we both do want a nice wedding and we're in this deep. I think once certain aspects become clearer we can finally kick back and relax.

Yes maam! Girl!! We are paying for it all and doing it all ourselves. And we would rather have eloped but family... yes family.... it really feels like it is for them more than us. We actually had a really good night tonight to get back on track. But I just keep rolling around what else we could do with that money!!!!! I think the best medicine at this point is patio margaritas... queue a big fan blowing and ahhhhhh

Yes a good friend gave me a little pearl of wisdom tonight... she said "it's not like you're paying for a wedding every year.... just one time. And it's an investment into each other and the memories you'll play over and over when you're old and gray and can't remember annnnny thing else!" Lol

I understand where you are coming from. And wedding planning is overwhelming and stressful. My wedding was June 15th. I can honestly say that everything was worth because it was an amazing day filled with so much love! And I promise you that your wedding day will be too. Just take a step back and give yourself time to relax!

About once a week i say we should just elope. for me, i find that what stresses me the most, besides everything, is everyone telling me i shouldn't be stressed. nothing annoys me more than my mom/sister telling me there's nothing to be stressed over.

I totally feel you, me and my fiancé are stressed as well. We have been trying to find fun things to do to keep our minds off the constant pressure, yet we still find something to fight about. I just want to get my wonderful day over with. Weird thing is I don't know why he is so stressed, he just listens to me get upset when I something goes wrong. LOL Someone recently posted a post about bad dreams, I have had a few, the last one was, I had a panic attack the day of my wedding and passed out, when I came to, I was married. I didn't remember the vows, the ceremony, the reception...nothing...I was just married, and I was like "Really? I did all this work for nothing and I don't remember a thing" I was so upset, then when I woke up I was even more upset bc I was afraid it could actually happen.
I'm sorry about your accident and your car, that def adds to the stress of everything. I really hope that everything works out for you. I'm taking it day by day at this point. lol
