Wedding planning is definitely overwhelming!! Take it one task at a time, and use a planning tool such as the checklist on either The Knot or Wedding Wire to keep yourself on track. Make lists of things you need to do so that you don't lose track of anything. Also, make sure to do fun things that aren't wedding related (spa days, date nights, etc) to give yourself a break! Also ask your fiance to take on some tasks to take some things off your plate. For example, my fiance communicates with almost all of our vendors, which left me free to do the research for invites, centerpiece ideas, etc. I do think it gets easier once you have the big things (venue, vendors, estimated guest list) completed. You've got this!

Wedding planning is stressful. Just stay on top of things and make sure to meet deadlines. I think doing everything last minute will be stressful. Esp handle big tasks earlier.

All wedding planning has its stressful moments. That is normal. When it gets to be too much take a step back and a breather and maybe hang out with your friends to breathe.

I don’t have a wedding planner & am using The Knot’s planning checklist. That keeps me on track & keeps things manageable. Keep doing one thing at a time & compete it before you move on to another task- if you start a bunch of things all at once, you’ll be all over the place & be overwhelmed. My fiancé is a firefighter/medic & is the captain of his crew- I can’t delegate things for him to do as his plate is always full even when he’s not working. I made appointments with venues, venders etc but he went with me to help decide.

No, I'm not getting overwhelmed at all. I'm more concerned about future COVID mandates.

I didn't have a wedding planner when I got married nor did I want one because I am very particular. When my husband and I got engaged my mom bought us The Knot wedding planner which helped a ton. It has different questionnaires to ask vendors, checklists, tips, etc. There is also a wedding planner on YouTube who does weekly videos. She gives tons advice and tips to brides to be. She also has a wedding planning program that you can purchase. You can purchase the 6 month or 12 month program. This program came out after we got married so I don't know a ton about it.

Hi, if it's local you can do it. If not, a planner is a must

We are doing our own also (Oct 2) I have bouts of stress with glitches but checklists help me stay focused or get back on track. Good luck to you. 💖

I usually took things one at a time, and took breaks in between. For example, I handled photography and decorating, and then I'd take a break between planning.

Take breaks. I was focusing a lot on it. And I had to step back it's been a couple of months and now I am starting again. Celebrate any of the milestones. Found a dress? Picked a venue? Awesome. Celebrate it!

It's an overwhelming process, try to enjoy it when you can. I technically have a wedding planner. But I hired her to be the day-of coordinator but she does offer other services.
