Feeling Crazy

Jennifer, on November 6, 2019 at 12:45 AM Posted in Planning 2 15
I know I have over 300 days to the wedding( September 19, 2020) and that I have done a lot of work and am doing good- but I do NOT feel like it. 😕

I have the:
- Venue booked, comes with the settings, tables, chairs & linens too. Ceremony, Cocktail Hour & Reception. As well as Rehearsal Dinner.
- Tasting for the cocktail hr/reception/cake set for the Saturday after Thanksgiving, have the floor plan basically set, Rehearsal dinner tasting later.
- Bridesmaids asked, and their boxes to them.
- Bridesmaids dresses and shoes done.
- My dress purchased.
- My tiara & belt purchased.
- My shoes purchased m- lilac was my grandpa’s fav colour and so found heels in that shade so he can “walk me down the aisle”...
- DIY items purchased, and some done, will be doing in January with my mom( if her surgery goes well!!)
- Videographer booked and deposit paid.
- Florist booked and deposit paid.
- DJ/photo booth/ uplighting booked and deposit paid. All one company.
- Photographer booked but need to pay deposit.
- Cake booked, through venue.
- Food/bar booked, through venue. And allergies known have told them about.
- Save the Dates sent. And most have received.
- Website up and running, still workin on it tho!
- Makeup/Hair trial set, just need to book dates
- 15 person spa day, day of rehearsal dinner @ Resort.
- Transportation set with Resort for airport/train pickup.
- Hotel Rooms blocked off, including ones we are covering cost of.
- Our VIP suite( Turning Stone Resort and Casino) booked.
- “Harry Potter” items( okay I went overboard!) gotten.
- Thank You gifts for my girls and my mom/dad(. Really need stepmom one- eeeek!)
- Photos in books of ”who’s who” for Photog, DJ, Videographer & DOC
- Officiant and Hand-fasting set.
- Ideas for favors, candy bar, hotel bags in mind and written down...
- Pet Sitter for our two fur babies set.
- Boxes made for groomsmen/best man, flower fairy and ring security.
- Cigar boxes for 20ppl almost done- need to add bow tie, cutter and cigar. Have personalized lighters.
- MOB/SMOB & MOG working on their outfits.

But, I feel like I am not getting anywhere.
I need to:
- Finally finish the DIY stuff
- Pick and order favors
- Candy for candy bar, order 2-3mo out
- Chocolate frogs order 3mo out to be shipped 2weeks before
- Invitations picked and mailed
- VEIL!!!
- Hotel bags
- mock set up of the tables and take pix/list all items for each table and pix how to set up
- Hire DOC
- Hire Decorator
- Get fiancé to tell me who the last 2 guys are and who’s best man!
- Ring Bearer, Flower Fairy, Our 3 adult Kids outfits & dads outfits
- Memorial pix of fiancé dad, younger brother & grandparents wedding pix and my grandparents wedding pix.
- Rings
- License
- Aunt and uncle ordained
.......

Plus I am going to school online for my Associates degree In paralegal, keeping house setup for entertaining/holidays, contractors finishing work, calming fiancé who’s a trial attorney, my fur babies time, my mom having a major surgery in January( 500 miles away), my dad had a stroke and is lying about how bad it is( 900 miles away), fiancé “darling” daughter living with us and now working with him, etc etc.....

Eeeeek. Thanks for the vent

You actually got more done than I did and my wedding is 3 months away. I think you've got this. Yes it's true that the year will go by fast, but you can do it!

I broke my list of things to do down into 2-week increments. Then as the date got closer it became one-week, then daily. By setting deadlines in advance I was able to complete all my tasks on time.

I wish I could say it gets easier as you check things off but honestly I still find myself panicking every once in a while. And that's ok. I know I will get through this and the day will be magical. Now you must trust the same instincts!

Take your time. Ask for help if you need it. You're already doing an amazing job so I have faith in you!

    You. Got. This. 💪🏽😉

Woooow.. my wedding is in Oct of next year and I only have my venue, florist and DJ booked lol so you are definitely doing great. Aside from the wedding you have other significant things happening (wishing you the best on all of it ) my mom had a stroke and that is challenging so I completely get you with that. But it seems like you got the reigns regarding the wedding so be proud of it 👍🏽Your kicking butt.. definitely utilize your bride and groom squad to help where they can, seems like you have your plate pretty full. Just remember you’re doing the best you can and know that your wedding day will turn out to be perfect 😀

The rest will come with time. Get all the big stuff done. I assigned jobs for the little stuff so I had less to stress about. My wedding is Saturday and last weekend my mom did my bouquets for me and his mom did our centerpieces for me which was a huge weight lifted. Aunt and uncle can ordain themselves a month or two before l. My uncle did his yesterday and I get married in 3 days. Like I said get the big stuff out of the way and paid for and it's less you stress before

Wow, I'm getting married same day and your post make me feel like I've not hardly got nothing done.

I finally just now got my dress last Sunday still no bridesmaids dresses nor groom or groomsmen tuxs purchased yet... Still no catering yet got a idea but haven't booked it yet. Florist spoke to her but gotta get back in touch with her after the new year. Those r the only things I still need to do. Plus get my kids attire for the wedding also.

You still got time so relax girl 😊 you got this🙌

I feel like I'm not getting anywhere either at times but you've definitely got more done than most people who have weddings before yours. Everything will turn out fine.

It might not seem like you've done a lot when you think about it, but just look at that list!

I was always feeling like I was doing stuff way too early, but trust me, it's better to have it all done early & get it out of the way rather than be cramming everything into the last few months. Just remember to take a minute to breathe. We got your back!

You have a LOT done!! Seems like most of your tasks left are more time sensitive as you get closer. There is still plenty of time! Also, a DOC will likely decorate for you, that’s what they do! At least ours does. Keep up the great work!
