Feeling sick before my Saturday wedding...

Thea, on September 12, 2019 at 3:26 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 16

I feel like I am coming down with a cold maybe, and the wedding is this Saturday (the 14th). Hit me with your best cold-busting tips!

I'm at work now, and my co-worker mentioned that her kids have been very sick this week so here's hoping I didn't catch whatever they have. Smiley atonished With all the stress and major weather changes these past few weeks, I'm sure that might make me more susceptible to catching something.

Current symptoms are a very minor fever, a vaguely sore throat, and a slight head-cold feeling. Am I over-reacting?? Is this just stress?

I will take some Zicam when I get home just to be safe, and am grabbing green tea now. Any advice is appreciated! Smiley heart

All the water! And hot tea with honey and lemon for your throat. Get as much rest as you can. It could be nothing but it's best not to take chances this close to the wedding. But if your fever get higher, go to the Dr ASAP to make sure it's not the flu.

While it does sound like you're coming down with a bit of a cold, stress sickness is a very real thing! Try to relax the best you can and take it easy for these next couple days, also load up on vitamin C! Wishing you the best for your health and your wedding Smiley heart

Get a TON of sleep. Chicken broth. Ginger tea. Ginger and/or turmeric shots, if you can get your hands on one from a juicery or health foods store.

I’d call your Dr. They may be able to give you a shot or start you on antibiotics ASAP to clear up whatever you have or prevent it from getting any worse. Can’t hurt to call them!

Second Emergen-C! Sleep, OJ, water, green tea, and perhaps soup (I love soup, and it always make me feel better, but someone people don't like it, or doesn't experience the same affect).

Chicken noodle soup with some garlic in it is a godsend. I had a really sore throat that felt like death a few weeks ago, I ate a bowl of chicken soup with garlic and drank some tea and woke up the next day 1,000x better

Oh my gosh... I do this all the time and it works!! Switch every 2-3 hours between EmergenC, Airborn, and ColdEze. Not sure if I’m spelling them right. But if you do that for an entire day you will blast it out of your system! It totally works!

Go to urgent care because if they can give you something to get better faster, a fever indicates something worse than a cold and antibiotics might help. it worth s try. Also, get one of those filtered netty pot sinus flush bottles with saline packets. Prayers for you that you feel better quickly.

I agree with taking Vitamin C! I take it EVERYDAY and the last time I started to even barely feel sick (because I had missed my vitamins a few days), I took vitamin C right away and the next day I felt great! Also, agree with the OTC meds to make sure you heal quicker.

My FH and I are 8 days away and just got over a cold. We loaded up on Zinc, Elderberry gummies and Alka Seltzer cold and cough gel caps. We also slept as much as possible but we got over it in 3 days!

Ditto for turmeric! However, there are challenges absorbing turmeric, and supplement forms absorb better than ordinary spice/food form.
