Feeling stressed

Kristin, on September 20, 2020 at 10:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Back in June my fiancé and I had decided to have a double wedding with my sister since hers was held off twice because of COVID and she had booked her new date two weeks before ours in March of 2021. The last spoken wedding date was supposed to be in February and now is November 7th of this year because my family found out that my dad has stage 3-4 cancer. Instead of this being a happy time I’m heartbroken for my dad and stressed about the wedding and being able to pay for everything and get everything done. I’m trying to figure out the necessities of what is definitely needed and what can be cut. I told my fiancé we can hold off on a wedding ring and that I will use the first ring he bought me because of the rush of paying for everything else. I’m also thinking I will have to figure out my own hair and makeup even though I’ve not got a clue. On top of all of this my finance and I are in the process of buying a house. Very stressful time and just need some reassurance that I will get through this.

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad! Sending virtual hugs!

You can totally skip anything that isn’t a necessity to the two of you. With so little time to plan, I suggest focusing on only the things that are most important to you.
I was at a loss at first on my hair and makeup, but knew choosing sunrise meant really high after-hours fees or diy. I watched tons of YouTube tutorials and bought multiple different products to try until I figure out what I liked best. You can totally did this, just be realistic about what you are able to do and don’t overwhelm yourself. Take care of yourself and your family.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad earlier this summer from cancer, so if you need to talk to someone else who feels what you're going through, don't hesitate to reach out Smiley heart

There are many things you can skip for budget/timing purposes. If you have a friend or relative who is good with makeup and hair, have them help you out the day of. Or you can practice, there are many tutorials online that would help! Do minimal decor, flowers, centerpieces, favors, and programs - these are all nice-to-haves, but truly you can just get fake flowers or local grocery store flowers for any arrangements or bouquets, do simple DIY centerpieces, and favors/programs no one will even notice if you don't have them.

Good luck, your day will be beautiful Smiley smile
