Feeling terrible about my body in my dress! Wedding is in 6 days.

Terrie, on April 27, 2013 at 3:23 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 68

I'm stressing! I absolutely hate how I feel in my dress. When I bought the dress I was 30 lbs heavier, after much diet and exercise, I was finally ready to do my fittings. My dress needed to be taken in massive inches everywhere. 65 pins total. Now that it fits, I can't wear any kind of undergarment or shaper. You can see any line, bone or seem through the lace. The lady had to sew in cups into the dress just so I didn't feel so naked. However, now I feel like all you notice us my belly! Like the first thing you see isn't me in the dres, it's my belly in the dress. I have bought about 7 different shapers and none work. I'm so depressed, and I feel terrible. I bought a second dress for the reception, which I love and feel great in. I wish I went for an Aline dress, since so bottom heavy. Instead I have this super fitted dress, I look like a fat white beyonce. Ugh help!

I am sure you look beautiful and that is all your guests and husband will be thinking. If you really do not feel great in it, can you wear your reception dress for the whole wedding?

I sure you will look beautiful. It's your day don't let anything stole your glory. I do not know you personally but we brides-to-be have to stick together and support each other. With that being said " I KNOW YOU WILL LOOK BEAUTIFUL ".

If you want, you have couple days before your day, try drinking Badia Natural Tea every night before you go sleep. That will remove and excess water and waste and you can possible get one of the 7 shapers to fit under the dress.

I feel so wide, and that stomach roll is disgusting.

i literally am at loss at what to do. I literally bought 6-7 different under garments, with no luck.

That dress looks amazing on you. Why are you being so hard on yourself? We are our harshest critics but I don't see any issues from the pictures.

I don't know if it's the belt, but my eyes go directly into my stomach, right under the belt. I wish i was fishing, but i genuinely hate how i feel in this dress.

    (i'm 162 pounds, 5'8)

I was 202 pounds, but lost 40 in about a year.

My friends tell me a have BMD, but I don't think I have that, because some things i feel good in, and other things i feel awful.

I wanted to be at 140 lbs, by the wedding, and it just couldn't happen.

Honey! You look truly amazing! The back is gorgeous! You look just stunning from the front. Take it from this WW crowd. We would give you honest and constructive criticism, but with the pictures you just showed us, all you need is a smile!

I think you need to realize the beauty you are in this dress. You look great in this dress!! If you centered the belt in front it might make you feel more covered in that area?

It seriously looks beautiful on you. BUT I get it. YOU need to feel good in it. I'm so sorry you feel this way. Especially after you have lost all that weight! You should feel amazing. If you are self conscious about your stomach, and if this dress is for the ceremony and you have one for the reception you feel great in, does that fact that your bouquet will be in front of your stomach for the ceremony make you feel better? Smiley smile Can't the bridal shop help you find shapers that look good and will make you feel better? You should be so excited about your wedding right now. I'm sorry you are feeling this way.

What you're calling a roll isn't a roll. Pretty much all but the skinniest of skinny women have that little bump. It's just the way the muscles and underlying organs and stuff are. Pretty much anyone who's healthy weight will have a little bump right around there. Case in point Jessica Biel and Kate Upton who I think are gorgeous but still healthy and realistic looking in that they're not rock hard and haven't had every ounce of fat on their stomachs sucked out.

I think you look fine in the dress!!! I have seen many a heavier bride than you who felt beautiful in their gown.

Could you try moving the belt down and placing it across the area you wish to hide?

If it is a removable belt, move it down 7" and see if you like it - I think it would look good. You would have to tack it to the dress, though, to keep it there

I think you look great in the dress but you have to have to feel great in it but I think it may be the belt that could be making you think that maybe try a different one or try it without it but in the end you have to feel comfortable.

I think you look gorgeous! I agree you should ask the bridal shop consultant to find you the best shaper for the dress so that you feel comfortable. If you think the belt is the problem, could you wear it without the belt and add a necklace to draw the eye up?

Thanks guys, the dress is too simple without it, it needs something.

i just look in the mirror, and i think everyone is going to think i'm having some kind of shot gun wedding, i feel like i look pregnant.

I'm so used to wearing everything A-line, since i'm very small at the waist with a big bottom. Normally, I'm not insecure about my top half, and it's always about my bottom half. For the first time in my life, I love how my rear looks in that dress, and the back of the dress. It's literally the stomach part thats throwing me off.

You could try removing the belt and adding a glitzy brooch at the center bust area. Or move the belt up just under the bust? Or get a glitz belt and attach it under the bust?
